South Korean rapper Jessi recently appeared on MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ on October 31st, sharing her past involving taking a stand against racism.
According to her story, she was made fun of for being Asian for around four years by someone during her time in the US. She explained that there were not a lot of Asians in the area she lived in at the time. However, while she was able to be patient and let things slide for four years, she eventually got into a fight with the person. She then stated that the person never bothered her again.
But she also did mention that while violence is never the answer to racism or any other issues involving discrimination, she emphasized the importance of standing up and having a voice.
Jessi definitely is a talented and charismatic artist who is not only a popular rapper but also an influential figure helping empower those in need of having a voice.
