In a recent interview with "W Korea", Ji ChangWook shared why he was moved to take on "The Sound Of Magic" as his screen comeback project. The actor revealed that the characters of Yun Ai and Na IlDeung reminded him of the struggles he faced during his own childhood, thus evoking a sense of deep empathy in him. It was the desire to support these characters that led Ji ChangWook to join the cast.

Ji ChangWook further revealed that as he read the webtoon before production began, he himself felt comforted by RiEul. His favourite words of advice from RiEul to Yun Ai were, "It's not about living your life doing what you want to do. It's about doing what you want to do as much as doing what you don't want to do". Having resonated so strongly with the character, he couldn't help but take on the project.
