Through "Queen Of Tears", one of the most hottest K-Dramas currently on air, actor Park SungHoon is captivating fans all across the world. Despite playing the villain of the series in Yoon EunSung, many are offering him well-deserved praise. Joining the likes of Kim SooHyun, Kim JiWon, Kwak DongYeon, and Lee JooBin, the actor has shown amazing chemistry with his castmates, both on and off screen.
Much of the world is probably laser focused on the main couple of the series, and rightly so. However, there's something to be said how Park SungHoon's acting prowess manages to make our skin crawl while appearing on screen, yet do a complete 180 when the cameras are not rolling. A duality that persists in work and personal life, you find yourself naturally falling for his many different charms.
And while his career has recently seen a spike in popularity, he's been around the industry for quite some time, continuously adding onto his collection of works.
Over A Decade Of Continuous Hard Work
Park SungHoon's success certainly did not happen overnight, making his debut in 2008 through the historical movie, "A Frozen Flower". His debut work and the many that would follow afterwards were small roles, with his journey to stardom including the need to take up several part-time jobs. However, Park SungHoon continued to persist in chasing after his dreams of becoming a dearly beloved actor.
He made his first big step into the spotlight through the K-Drama, "Six Flying Dragons", wowing audiences and critics alike with his stellar performance. This would act as his stepping stone until he was able to land one of his first main roles in long-form weekend drama, "My Only One". Opposed to how we've come to know the actor today, his character in "My Only One" exuded such swoon-worthy sweetness that made hearts appear from your eyes.
A Master Of Every Genre
Looking at Park SungHoon's collection of work so far, he's tried anything and everything. He doesn't allow himself to be tied down to one singular role. Rather, he makes a conscious effort to beef up his resume with a variety of different works in order to showcase his versatility as an actor. We've seen him wear traditional hanbok in historical pieces, suited up as a reliable secretary, and in casual sweats.
Regardless of how he's dressed or who he's portraying, the actor provides multiple praise-worthy performances. Even in smaller support roles, he manages to have spotlight-worthy moments, stealing the show and capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide. He leaves an impact and it's no doubt that it's because of his continuous hard work and myriad of experiences that he's able to slot into so many different characters and genres.
Park SungHoon On The Rise
Netflix
While he was already considered a talented actor, the success of "The Glory" catapulted Park SungHoon to new heights. Playing the villainous character of Jeon JaeJoon was a skin-crawling experience, able to produce menacing lasers to shoot from his eyes. After the drama's world renowned success, Park SungHoon appeared in two more dramas, "Not Others" and "The Kidnapping Day".
tvN
And now through the tvN hit series "Queen Of Tears", he is once again meeting audiences as a certified villain. You can't help but completely loathe his character as he makes constant attempts to get in between Baek HyunWoo (Kim SooHyun) and Hong HaeIn (Kim JiWon). This just speaks to his ability to expertly portray his role and bring out a series of such strong reactions from the viewers watching. With the recent successes in his career, there's no doubt that Park SungHoon's upward trajectory won't stop anytime soon.
We're overjoyed to see the actor grow and are more than excited to witness how his career continues to unfold.
