While we already knew that JYP Entertainment would be having a busy year in 2019 after their schedule was leaked back in 2018, the launching of the Japanese version of TWICE has just been confirmed by the agency.
JYP Entertainment announced that they will be launching a new girl group in Japan under their partnership with Sony Music.
The agency's founder Park JinYoung is reportedly heading over to Japan in February to hold a press conference and release more details about the upcoming new girl group in Japan.
Park JinYoung also discussed his approach in globalizing K-Pop by stating:
"K-Pop's first step in globalization is exporting contents to the international music scene. Their next step is to integrate foreign artists into K-Pop. After that, training and producing foreign talent is required. JYP Entertainment's first project that implements this system is our six-member Chinese group Boy Story. We are currently preparing to launch a girl group which will consist of only Japanese members. You can say they are the Japanese version of TWICE."
Stay tuned for updates!
