K-Netizens Criticize Hani Of EXID For Not Sexualizing Herself Enough
Just recently on May 3rd, girl group EXID performed their hit song ‘UP & DOWN’ in Seoul City Hall Arena but were met with negative response from a few people in the audience, as well as some netizens online.
The reason? Hani didn’t sexualize herself enough during the performance.
Some people in the audience, as well as netizens online, were expecting her to be as revealing as possible and perform but were disappointed after she covered herself up with her jacket during some dance parts. You can check it out starting from 0:30.
People who were criticizing her stated,
“It’s funny how she starts to cover her body up after becoming famous.”
“She’s acting like she’s expensive.”
“Unprofessional.”
Fans have defended her by saying people shouldn’t be expecting her to sexualize herself.
This is clearly something that K-Pop fans should think about because idols seem to receive criticism either way. If they reveal too much, they are criticized as being inappropriate. If they cover up too much, they are criticized as unprofessional and lacking.
How would you respond if you were in Hani’s shoes?
