Kang SungHoon Criticized For Rating Fans’ Appearances Through Alleged Beauty Contests
Former Kang SungHoon fans are currently claiming that he held fan club summer camps for the purposes of rating the appearances of fans through “beauty pageant” contests.
Some people who used to support his fandom ILYSH, claimed that the female fan who possessed the most qualities of his ideal type of woman would be crowned as “Miss ILYSH” in these contests. His fandom name eventually changed later on from ILYSH to Hoony World.
But the most surprising part of the claims from these former fans is that the contest was almost like an actual beauty pageant competition, as several fans from all over the world would come to South Korea to compete for the crown of “Miss ILYSH”. Kang SungHoon would usually reveal physical attributes of his idea type such as height, weight, and facial features.
According to a fan’s statement, all participating fans had to be taller than 165 cm and under 50 kg.
One former fan recounted her experience at one of these contests and expressed regret over having tried out as she felt humiliated while being evaluated on her appearance.
Meanwhile, Kang SungHoon has also been criticized recently for making insulting remarks towards modern day idols.
Netizens have been reacting to his controversial statement by uploading photos of him and rating his appearance as well, which is currently amounting to pure bashing rather than an actual assessment.
And as for the recent claims of him holding beauty contests while using fans as contestants, netizens have been in disbelief as well as to how he still continues to have fans after so much bad publicity and controversies.
“Wow…I wonder what this guy actually thinks of his fans.;;;;”
“He had fans even after doing stuff like that…”
“This exceeds my imagination.”
When will his long streak of controversies ever end?
