Summer’s here and NaNa wants to make sure you keep your sun damaged skin healthy and glowing! Known for her super model visuals and beauty, NaNa says she worries over the sun ray damages and the lingering dusts that clog up her skin during the summer. NaNa has shared her secret tip for keeping her skin clean and fresh all summer long with the use of olive oil.
Get her know-hows on using this single ingredient to make sure your skin stays healthy and bright during the harsh summer weathers!
1. Deep Cleansing the Right Way
NaNa’s first step in her summer olive oil cleansing care is deep cleansing. She says there are three criteria that she checks when she chooses her cleansing oils. First, she prefers olive oil that originated from Spain. Second, she makes sure the cleansing oil truly contains olive oil as one of its main ingredients. Third, she makes sure that the oil is vegetable oil, because it helps heal your skin. Once she’s chosen the right olive oil cleansing oil, she uses three pumps of the oil to carefully rid of the makeup, oil and dust stuck in her pores.
2. Secondary Cleanse with Olive Oil Foam
Once she’s rinsed out the cleaning oil, NaNa moves on to her secondary cleanse. Her secondary cleanse consists of thoroughly washing away the left over residue with her olive oil cleaning foam soap. She makes sure that there are enough foam and bubbles that are tight. That way, the cleanse can be thoroughly refreshing yet light. She says this step is essential especially for those who use heavy amounts of makeup.
3. Olive Oil Self Care
After all of the thorough cleansing, NaNa makes sure to protect and nutrient her skin with more olive oil essentials! First, she cleans her skin texture with a mild lotion. She dabs a good amount on a cotton pad and cleans her face texture accordingly. Since NaNa is always on the go, it’s hard for her to bring so many self care products along. But there’s one product that she will never travel without: her multipurpose olive oil! As her second self care practice, she mixes her moisturizer cream and olive oil in a 3:1 ratio. This helps her maintain her skin’s moisture while protecting her skin.
Another tip that she shares is the use of olive oil as a nail strengthener and a hair treatment. NaNa regularly dips her nails in a warm bowl of water with a few droplets of olive oil. She dips her finger nails in for about 5 minutes, which helps her nails strengthen and shine. She also adds a few drops of olive oil on her palms and runs them through her hair. The olive oil acts as a hair treatment and lotion, which helps nourish the hair follicles.
Product Information & Suggestions
NaNa uses the DHC line for her olive oil cleansing system of choice. She uses DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil, which meets all of her olive oil criteria. She washes her face with DHC’s Olive & Honey Cleansing Soap, which has olive oil extracts as well as honey. Both ingredients help restore skin health and glow. DHC also carries a mild lotion that is light on the skin, yet saturates the skin in a soothing tone. NaNa’s choice of olive oil is DHC’s virgin olive oil.
Wanting to follow NaNa’s olive oil cleansing tip, but don’t have too much cash to blow? Try out Innisfree or Nature Republic’s olive oil skin care lines. Innisfree features much of what DHC offers, but at a lower price. The main difference would be that Innisfree’s olive oil originates from the Crete Islands than Spain.
Nature Republic also features much of the same, but instead of using a mild lotion, Nature Republic features an essence. A good suggestion would be to mix the essence and the Olive Oil Ampole as the self care step.
Did you try it? All set for a fresh, healthy skinned summer?
