        Looks like K-Pop fans have once again impressed many with the love for their favorite K-Pop idol group.

        It has caught the attention of Forbes as there has been an increasing number of fans requesting to put birthday ads on New York Times Square. They had previously wrote an article about K-Pop fans spending big money on ads to promote for their favorite stars in 2017.

        According to Brad Rosenthal who is in charged of ad sales for NASDAQ and Thomson Reuters, he mentioned that fans began to take interest in putting ads over New York Times Square digital billboards since the beginning of 2017. Depending on the size and location, the cost of the ad differ for different places. Usually it costs around 32.4 million won which is about US$30,000 for a week worth of advertising.

        Even with that said, fans of BTS and EXO are revealed to put up ads the most frequent. It is also known that faces of other groups could also be seen from time to time. Previously, Wanna One's Kang DanielNCT's TaeYong and BTS's V had their birthday ads being put up on New York Times Square!

        On April 28th, fans of Hwang ChiYeul had placed an ad for him there too. They even attached the message "The Only Star Hwang Chi Yeul" on the advertising billboard. It is known to be the largest scale of comeback celebration for the singer.

        Hwang ChiYeul had released his second mini album "Be Myself" on April 24th and also been taking the number one spot for music charts in the 4th week of April.

        With the increase in popularity of K-Pop, it is likely that fans would continue to share the love they have for their favorite idols through such advertising methods not just in South Korea but also overseas. It is previously known that fans in South Korea have also been using subway and bus station advertisements as a way to celebrate the idols' birthdays and comebacks.
