The K-Pop scene has quite a few multi-cultural individuals who represent different nations all over the world. While K-Pop may have originated within South Korea, some of the idols who represent the scene have diverse backgrounds.

In fact, K-Pop has become such a popular and widespread phenomenon that even non-Koreans are beginning to show more interest in becoming a K-Pop idol.

Former I.O.I member Jeon SoMi has three different citizenships. She has passports for the following three countries: Canada, Netherlands, and South Korea. While she was born in Canada, she began growing up in South Korea. South Korea issues a passport to anyone who began living in the country within a six month time frame since they were born.
