Today, we're diving deep into the meaning behind the lyrics to Sorn's 'Sharp Objects'!
Newly signed to the global entertainment company WILD Entertainment Group, Sorn is starting a brand new journey as a soloist and she's doing it with all the pizzazz, glamour, and sass we could have imagined. Her newest single 'Sharp Objects' is telling of Sorn's passionate and more importantly, unstoppable desire to take the music industry by storm. A love song (or rather, a song about love) on the surface, 'Sharp Objects' carries layers of meaning that are definitely fun to unpack so let's get to it!
"Momma always said that love’s a crazy game / watched it drive her wild till she went insane / Walking on the broken glass from picture frames / Guess I didn't learn my lesson from her pain"
Sorn takes no time to plunge right into her story, making sure we know that this isn't her first time at the rodeo of love. As a matter of fact, her propensities, especially when it comes to matters of the heart, run in her blood. In this fictional narrative, Sorn implies that despite the fact that she comes from a broken family, the only thing she has learned is to love hard or not at all.

"It's dangerous / But I play with sharp objects"
Taking romance and relationships out of this equation, we're left with a framework for how Sorn possibly views the music industry. It has not been easy to reach the scale of success she enjoys today and now, she's standing on the edge of an even greater journey. However, it doesn't intimidate her one bit because this thorny road to success is her rosy playground.
"Maybe it's because my tongue's a razor blade / That I can take a paper cut with no band-aid"
Sorn realizes her self worth and that is exactly what shields her against adversity. Seasoned by experience, she's a diamond: stronger than ever.
"If there ain't any difference / Between loving and running with scissors / Then I'm A-OK / Cause that’s the type of rush I'm craving"
Things that would normally be toxic to others, transform into playthings for Sorn. She artfully incorporates the analogy of relationships into that of taking leaps of faith for what makes her happy.

At the end of the day, Sorn is in control and she knows exactly what she is doing. 'Sharp Objects' is no pity party for dangerous liaisons but rather an invitation for the world to come at her. Knowing that she will emerge victorious either way, Sorn is choosing to indulge in the game and we are living for it.
