Which 2017 debuting rookie soloists and girl groups with survival audition members are you most anticipating to lead the K-Pop future?
Although there are new girl groups debuting, there are a couple that our eyes are complete set on. We've seen such talented artists competing against each other through various survival audition programs, such as Mnet's "Produce 101" and SBS's "Kpop Star 6". Let's take a look at which female idols will finally be (have already been) debuting this year after withstanding the harsh competitions of survival programs.
Which 2017 debut rookie are you most rooting for the 2017 Rookie Awards?
6th - Kriesha Chu
Kriesha Chu appeared out of nowhere on "Kpop Star 6", and stole the hearts of K-Pop's top producers YG, JYP, Antenna Music and so much more. At the end, Kriesha finished as a runner up in the group KWINS. She then signed on with Urban Works to official debut on May 24th with "Trouble".
5th - Elris
Elris is a new 5 member girl group by HUNUS Entertainment. Kriesha's fellow KWINS member Kim SoHee will be debuting as the center of this group. Considered the first girl group sister to hip hop group TOPP DOGG, everyone awaits how Elris make a name in the industry after their official debut on June 1st.
4th - Kim ChungHa
The dancing diva of I.O.I will finally making her solo debut! Kim ChungHa dropped her pre-debut track, 'WEEK' in April. After another month of preparations, ChungHa has set her debut eyes on June 7th. Ever known for her amazing dancing skills and vocal skills to match, ChungHa will be a match to look out for.
3rd - i-Teen Girls (Fantagio Girls)
i-Teen Girls, also known as the Fantagio Girls, are gearing up for their official debut that's set for sometime this summer - only a few months to go! The group is highly anticipated for containing two of "Produce 101" and I.O.I's members, Kim DoYeon and Choi YooJung. After studying abroad in LA, and teasing potential members, the group is rumored to be a force to be reckoned with.
2nd - DAYDAY
What happens when you combine the forces of both "Produce 101" and "Kpop Star 6"? You get DAYDAY! DAYDAY is a girl group set to debut soon under HYWY Entertainment. The group consists of Lee SuHyun from "Produce 101"/I.B.I and Jeon MinJu from "Kpop Star 6"/The Ark. With such high ranking members, will DAYDAY be the winner of 2017's Rookie Awards?
1st - PRISTIN
As of May 2017, PRISTIN is well underway to grabbing the 2017 Rookie Award trophies at the end of the year. PRISTIN is the sister group to the ever popular boy group, SEVENTEEN, and consists of "Produce 101"/I.O.I members KyulKyung and NaYoung. Perhaps it's thanks to such high profile members, but PRISTIN has been deemed a super rookie for their debut album, "HI! PRISTIN" and title track 'Wee Woo'.
