Lawyer & Broadcaster Criticizes Red Velvet YeRi’s Statement About Kim JongUn
A few weeks back, Red Velvet members with the exception of Joy who was busy filming ‘Tempted‘, made a visit to North Korea to give a stage performance. The K-Pop idols even ended up meeting North Korea’s leader Kim JongUn in person and shaking hands with him.
When asked about how they felt about their encounter with Kim JongUn, YeRi expressed enthrallment as she stated that it was ‘an honor’ being able to shake hands with the dictator.
However, South Korean lawyer and broadcaster Jun WonTchack apparently didn’t take YeRi’s comments too well. Often known for having a loud voice tone when expressing his opinions about certain issues, Jun WonTchack raised his brows when he heard YeRi’s statement saying that it was an honor to be able to shake hands with Kim JongUn. Netizens have speculated that his voice tone was more composed than usual since YeRi isn’t a politician.
But nevertheless, he criticized her and asked how she could feel any sense of honor by shaking hands with an enemy.
Some netizens have defended YeRi and stated that it was a moment of peace between the two divided nations and she did no wrong by expressing her feelings the way she did. Others have also added that there was no harm in saying nice things when visiting for diplomatic purposes.
What is your opinion about YeRi’s comments? Is the lawyer being too stubborn and hostile for no reason?
