After the shocking news of how members of K-Pop idol band The East Light were abused for nearly four years by a producer in their agency, hundreds of thousands of South Korean netizens joined in a petition to the government, demanding punishment for both the producer and Media Line Entertainment CEO Kim ChangHwan, who did not attempt to intervene despite being fully aware of what was going on.
The group's leader, Lee SukChul, held a press conference a while back, breaking down in tears as he told the media that he was often beaten, strangled with electric guitar wires, and locked up inside rooms.
But it's not just Lee who has been a victim of abuse. Another member of the band, Lee WooJin, is reported to have been abused ever since he was just fourteen years old. According to reports from South Korean news agencies, he was often beat with baseball bats. And as it has been revealed through previous reports, the baseball bats would sometimes even be used on the head of the band members, causing bloody injuries.
