Lodging and Accommodation for’The Unit’ and ‘MIXNINE’ Trainee Idols
Both programs have proven to show talented idols with promising potentials. But what about the differences between them?
It turns out that the two reality TV survival programs have one very clear difference between them. It’s the lodging and accommodation that are provided for the idol trainees.
KBS’s ‘The Unit’ has already received loads of criticism from netizens for not following through with its alleged theme. While the show’s purpose, as the creators have said, was to reboot existing idols’ popularity into the spotlight, the show seems to be doing something completely different from it. Obscure idols and actors that the majority of people have never heard of are instead being forced into the spotlight. Existing idols that have tasted small success but couldn’t make a major breakthrough are being overlooked.
To make matters worse, netizens have quickly pointed out the enormous difference in the way idol trainees are being taken care of. Still images of both TV programs reveal that while MIXNINE trainees get to sleep in five-star hotels, The Unit trainees sleep in dormitory rooms with four beds that have been squeezed in. Of course, hotels aren’t everything but the problem is that for a TV program that is said to have had an investment of 20 Million USD, it doesn’t really add up how idol trainees are provided almost below average lodging and accommodation.
