THEBLACKSEA, a joint-venture between THEBLACKLABEL and Charoen Pokphand Group (CP), a prominent conglomerate in Thailand, recently conducted a successful audition as its initial step towards establishing itself as a global brand focused on artist-led lifestyle. CP Group, Thailand's largest private company and the world's leading producer of shrimp and agricultural products, operates various businesses, including retail and telecom, across Southeast Asia. THEBLACKLABEL, home to renowned artists such as BIGBANG's TaeYang, Jeon SoMi, LØREN, Zion.T, and Park BoGum, is a creative agency founded by Teddy Park, known for his role as Creative Director behind global stars like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK. The aim of THEBLACKSEA is to expand beyond traditional entertainment ventures and captivate audiences worldwide through artist-driven lifestyle experiences.

As a crucial step in realizing this ambitious vision, THEBLACKSEA and CP hosted the inaugural "THEBLACKLABEL Thailand Audition," which commenced last April 18th. From the initial online announcement to the THEBLACKBOX Pop-Up Studio at Siam Center, the audition received an overwhelmingly positive response from individuals throughout the nation.

Notably, the audition was graced by members of THEBLACKLABEL's production team, including 24, the primary beat-maker behind BLACKPINK's most successful songs, and Danny Chung, the lyricist renowned for crafting rap verses for BLACKPINK's Jennie and Lisa. Together, 24 and Danny Chung, representing THEBLACKSEA, interacted with thousands of aspiring individuals aspiring to become the next global star from Thailand while showcasing hits like 'Pink Venom', 'Shut Down', and 'How You Like That'.

What made this evaluation unique was the presence of esteemed producers from THEBLACKLABEL, personally conducting the screening and bringing their extensive experience and expertise from overseas to identify exceptional talent.

THEBLACKSEA's inaugural project is the Thailand audition, in collaboration with THEBLACKLABEL, with the aim of discovering gifted individuals in Thailand and Southeast Asia as a whole. The audition is open to aspiring male and female individuals, aged 13 and above, of any nationality with permanent residency in Thailand. Interested applicants can submit their entries via THEBLACKLABEL's official email address ([email protected]), from April 18th, 2023. The chosen finalists will receive comprehensive training at THEBLACKLABEL in Seoul, South Korea, under the guidance of Teddy Park, and will have the opportunity to debut as the next global sensation through the label.

THEBLACKLABEL has been actively expanding its roster and recently released LØREN's debut EP "Put Up a Fight" on March 24th. The artist also performed at the renowned Coachella music festival in California. The label is also set to release BIGBANG TaeYang's first EP in six years, titled "Down to Earth," on April 25th. In addition to its music ventures, THEBLACKLABEL has also entered the actor management business by signing prominent A-list actor Park BoGum.

LØREN, the Korean alternative rock artist, has signed with the renowned record label 88rising. Along with annnoucement of the record deal, LØREN also revealed that he will release his debut EP, titled "Put Up a Fight", on March 24 with 88rising and THEBLACKLABEL. Prior to its release, LØREN will be performing in the United States for the first time at "SXSW" and "Head in the Clouds New York".

LØREN's highly anticipated album, "Put Up a Fight," follows the release of three popular singles in 2021, which collectively amassed over 14 million views in less than a year. The artist gained recognition for writing songs for BLACKPINK, as well as appearing in one of their music videos, which helped him amass a significant following on Instagram, totaling 1.2 million fans. LØREN's musical talent and unique fashion sense have also earned him cover features in prestigious publications such as Vogue Hong Kong, DAZED Korea, i-D, and most recently, Female Magazine, where he became their first male cover star. Additionally, LØREN has been selected as a model for Saint Laurent campaigns, cementing his status as a rising star in Korean entertainment.

LØREN's latest EP, "Put Up A Fight," is a fusion of pop-punk and indie-rock, featuring the artist's distinctive blend of grungy Korean and English vocals. The EP sees LØREN explore a more vulnerable side, with his songwriting skills on full display as he tackles sensitive topics such as mental illness and isolation.

I've been looking forward to "Put Up A Fight"'s release for a while now, and I'm thrilled to join forces with 88rising through the process. I'm a huge fan of their work, and I'm very happy to take part in their vision. It feels surreal to have "SXSW", album release, and HITC New York ahead of me. To say I'm excited would be an understatement—I absolutely cannot wait for what's to come.

LØREN is set to perform live at two major events in the US: "SXSW" and "Head in the Clouds". The artist will be joining Balming Tiger on March 15 at the Tiger Den showcase, which is the first all-Asian music festival of SXSW. Attendees can RSVP for the showcase. Later on May 21, LØREN will be heading to New York to participate in 88rising's "Head in the Clouds", an annual music festival hosted by the label.
