Made In Korea: Jaws Tteokbokki Fishcake Teabag
It won’t be long until the weather starts turning cold. What this means is that it will also affect our choice of food and beverages as well.
Jaws Tteokbokki is a South Korean franchise specializing in as the name suggests, tteokbokki and light traditional Korean food. Photos have been released recently from Jaws Tteokbokki suggesting that there is a possibility that they might begin producing fishcake teabags. Netizens are already building up the hype and it seems the majority of them are hoping for the product’s release sometime soon to fight off the upcoming cold weather.
For a small introduction, the franchise was founded in October 2007 near the prestigious Korea University. It may have had humble beginnings but is now has locations all over South Korea.
Fishcake soup is extremely popular amongst South Korean people. It is usually consumed with a meal together or on the streets while having a snack such as tteokbokki and fried shrimp. And because South Korean people love to party all night even during winter, businesses that sell tteokbokki and fishcake soup thrive everywhere on the streets near clubs and bars. People would usually go bar-hopping or club-hopping and in between stop by the stands or restaurant for a quick snack. Fishcake soup is especially popular during cold weather seasons. It’s great for heating the body up and its savory taste with fried food is simply heavenly. Objectively speaking, the business idea of releasing fishcake soup teabags in Korea is not too farfetched and is actually quite brilliant. Some people prefer tea over coffee anyway. And not to mention, many people carry warm beverages in their thermal cups during fall and winter.
Unfortunately, the product isn’t available at the moment as Jaws Tteokbokki is still contemplating whether it would be a product worth manufacturing. But to add some relief, the company has officially announced that they are preparing products that are to be released when the cold weather kicks in and may very well be hinting that the fishcake soup teabag is one of them.
There are, however, alternative products that fishcake soup lovers would probably like. Busan Fishcake has a soup powder that can instantly transform water into fishcake soup. It’s not exactly fishcake flavored tea, but it is still close and might get the job done for some people.
Because there is already a steady hype and positive reactions from netizens, it is likely that Jaws Tteokbokki will soon hopefully put the product out in some time near mid to late fall season. For the time being, let’s keep our hopes up!
