Kakao Friends are making friends in pretty high places these days!
Ryan, Apeach, Tube, and friends have teamed up with French luxury brand Louis Vuitton to create an exclusive line of gift shop items fans can pick up when attending the “Louis Vuitton: Volez Voguez Voyagez” exhibition at Seoul’s famed Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
Running through the end of August, the exhibition showcases major highlights of Louis Vuitton’s history in fashion, spanning over one and a half centuries. Attendees to the event are the only ones who have access to products from the exclusive collaboration, and pictures of what they’ve got to sell have us absolutely drooling with envy!

Attendees each receive a special KakaoTalk collaboration card, which gives them a special KakaoTalk X Louis Vuitton emoticon pack they can use for 30 days.
The emoticons themselves are incredibly high fashion and feature our favorite Kakao Friends in some very editorial-ready poses – riding yachts, flying private jets, and buried in Louis Vuitton’s iconic logo luggage pieces.

Many of these emoticons are available as large stickers, so you can rock your favorite character on notebooks, laptops, and more.
The images are also available as embroidered patches than can be put on clothes, bags, and more to make your very own customized items.
For the fashionista willing to drop cash, Louis Vuitton created a special version of their Vachetta leather luggage tag featuring Kakao Friends’ popular Ryan character. Only 1,000 were made, each being sold for 245,000 won (approx. $215 USD). Each tag can be custom embossed with your initials on site.
If you’re going to be visiting the Seoul area sometime this month, make sure to stop by Dongdaemun Design Plaza’s Louis Vuitton exhibition to get your hands on some of this limited edition swag!

Made In Korea: “Despicable Me 3” Minion Instant Ramyun
“Despicable Me 3” has been out in South Korean for just about a week now, and no one has been spreading ‘minion fever’ further than national convenience store chain GS25.
GS25 has been giving fans of the popular animation every possible chance to sneak a little minion into their day – from minion banana milk to small goods like earbuds, portable chargers, and toothbrushes.
Perhaps the most unusual product they’re offering, however, is their minion-inspired instant ramyun. Labeled “YouUs Corn Cheese Soup Noodles,” the ramyun comes in a bright yellow paper container designed to look like a minion itself.

The ramyun has become a trendy try among daring convenience store-goers, as instant ramyun is a popular late night snack among college students. Not only is the broth an unusual sweet corn flavor, but the soup comes with actual minions floating around inside!
The minions are actually tiny pieces of fishcake that add a fun little flair to the soup – you know, just in case you forget that you’re eating something minion-themed. The soup also contains whole kernels of corn to make the ramyun a more heartier snack.
The soup is made with a packet of corn-flavored broth powder. However, the final step in the noodle process is a packet of cheese topping. Putting the cheese on after the soup has already cooked adds a satisfyingly gooey cheese texture to the noodles and enhances the smell of the soup.
Right now, you can only currently find the soup at national GS25 locations and while supplies last. So if you’re in Korea this summer, hunt this soup down and try it for yourself!
