Made In Korea: Old Fashioned Rice Cake Soup
Happy Lunar New Years, everyone~
It’s a blessed times for blessed tidings, where we can see our favorite idols decked out in beautiful hanboks. What’s hanboks? They’re the traditional clothing of the Koreans that are super fanciful and beautiful. With the latest designs and fusion innovation, they’ve become quite fashionable.
I mean… look at SEVENTEEN. Drool worthy! Cosmic Girls? Absolutely stunning!
One of the age old traditions of Koreans during Lunar New Years is the act of properly bowing to your elders. You’re dressed up beautifully in colorful hanbok, now finish it off with the correct way of bowing!
But we all know what the main event of Seollal is… food!
Families deck out the tables with an overload of delicious food, but the most important dish is the rice cake soup. They say that you only grow a year older if you eat a whole bowl of rice cake soup… and I totally believed it was absolutely true when I was a tiny toddler. But I digress!
