MBK Entertainment's battle with their former girl group T-ara has now come to an end.
Just recently on January 8th, the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service ruled in favor of the girl group during their trademark dispute, rejecting MBK Entertainment's trademark applications for the group name 'T-ara'.
But this isn't the first time that MBK was rejected. The agency applied for a total of four applications which covered the usage of the name 'T-ara' in entertainment, photography / film, cosmetics, and clothing. They were denied on all four applications in back in June 2018, as the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service stated
"A trademark that is made up of name, title, portrait, signature, seal, literary name, stage name, prominent person cannot be registered."
