When we refer to positions in K-Pop groups, we usually tend to divide the members based on the "lines" they are a part of. This includes "vocal line", consisting of the vocalists in the group, "rap line" made up of the rappers and "dance line" for the dancers. At times, fans even assign other lines like "hyung line" for the eldest members and "maknae" line for the youngest! While lines aren't official distinctions, they are widely used by fans and sometimes idols themselves.
With that said, here are the top 10 K-Pop boy groups with the most unique rap lines!
Note: This list is not a ranking, but there will be a poll at the end of the article where you can vote for your favorite duo. As this is a poll for readers to vote on whenever they find this article, it will not be closed. However, a result article will be posted on November 28, 2022, based on the results as of that date.
When BIGBANG arrived on the scene, they changed it forever. Their music was revolutionary, and their talent, inimitable. With G-Dragon's iconic rap tone and T.O.P's flawless delivery, BIGBANG's rap line is an unbeatable force to be reckoned with. This is probably why the GD & TOP subunit is also one of the most popular and powerful subunits of all time. The way they bounce off of each other and switch their flows while complementing each other is a vision to behold. In addition, member TaeYang also makes for a formidable rapper with an entirely different style. We cannot wait to see them back in action again, hopefully in the near future.
5-time Grammy nominee BTS is a goldmine of talent that houses 7 of the most influential artists in the whole world. BTS' rap line - RM, Suga, and J-Hope, are extremely successful soloists in their own right, but when they're together, the artistic heavens rejoice in their glory. If this article is your first introduction to the BTS rap line (which is highly unlikely), prepare to be blinded by their brilliance because these boys don't miss. RM's baritone and lyrics, Suga's speed and execution, and J-Hope's unique flow and energy make for a combination that is simply out of this world.
The very mention of the MONSTA X rap line gives us goosebumps because we already know what to expect: utter perfection. JooHoney has that raw power in his voice, while I.M brings the edge. Their tonal range is vastly different, and so is their throw, but together, a coherence is born, which is absolutely unique to MONSTA X. That's not all! The duality that these two embody in their rap is magnificent, to say the least, which amplifies the impact of their performance manifold, and we're left slack-jawed in awe.
Being the largest K-Pop group ever comes with its perks. NCT has some of the best vocalists, rappers, and dancers in the entire industry! While technically, NCT has a number of rap lines if we consider NCT DREAM, NCT U, WayV, NCT 127, and so on and so forth but for the purpose of this article, we're talking about all of the rappers in NCT, and when it comes to that, the power is insurmountable. We have TaeYong, Mark, JaeHyun, YangYang, Hendery, Jeno, JaeMin, JiSung, SungChan, and even more if we take into account how versatile the members are. In terms of diversity, it cannot possibly get any better than this and with each rapper having a solid style of their own, uniqueness is off the charts.
Ever since their debut, Stray Kids have maintained their reputation as the K-Pop group with all aces. This means that there are no official positions because every member is highly skilled in all the arts. Among fans and K-Pop experts however, members Han and ChangBin are widely referred to as the strongest rappers of this generation, whereas Felix and HyunJin are lauded for their distinct individuality in rap. However, the rest of the members are also capable rappers with their own style, which makes the group incredibly strong in this respect. Talk about a dream team!
No conversation about rap lines would ever be valid without ATEEZ - the group with the resident rap gods of K-Pop, HongJoong, and MinGi. Watching these two set the stage on fire with their rap is like witnessing the making of history. Besides their obviously exceptional talent and technique, there's a certain freshness, novelty, and purpose in their rap that just hits different and strikes the right chords. HongJoong's levity and MinGi's gravity is the ultimate combination that will always win. ATEEZ makes art that matters, and HongJoong and MinGi's rap play a huge role in the same.
Be it rap, vocals, dance, or visuals: VICTON is a group that can wow you in all of these fields and more. With regards to their rap line - HanSe, Han SeungWoo, and SuBin, the synergy is unlike anything we've ever seen before. What's more impressive here is that all 3 of them are stellar rappers on their own with very distinct styles, but when they hop on a track together, they transform it into their playground and enjoy the process of creation to no extent. This is probably why every single song on VICTON's discography is a bop, and they keep getting better and better.
If you want a glimpse of what the future of K-Pop looks like, just listen to P1Harmony's discography. Power-packed and ever-evolving, P1Harmony has one of the finest rap lines in the 4th generation of K-Pop - JongSeob, InTak, JiUng, and Soul. It is also worth noting that the rap line writes their own verses, and considering the astounding quality of the same, we can rest assured that there will be much more where that came from. P1Harmony is the type of group that makes us feel proud to be a stan, and we will always support them no matter what.
From rookies to rockstars, BAE173 has already made a name for themselves in the K-Pop industry, and with every step they take, our minds are blown. What adds to their impressive repertoire is the fact that they are an entirely self-produced group. J-Min, MuZin, DoHa, DoHyon - these are the powerhouses making up BAE173's rap line, and their latest release, "ODYSSEY: DaSH" was produced by the maknae on top, DoHyon himself! With the rap line as one of their biggest strengths, BAE173 is right on track for a legendary career in K-Pop.
TNX is one of those groups that has the flair of a seasoned team. Formed from the survival reality show "Loud" by P Nation, TNX made a striking debut that left an unforgettable impression. As a matter of fact, their debut song, 'Move' is one of the best songs of 2022, and it puts the competence of the rap line on full display. Consisting of KyungJun, Hwi, HyunSoo, and JunHyeok, not only does the rap line have impeccable flow and unrivaled skill, but their x-factor is the respect and attention they command through their rap. Now, that's what you call a super rookie group. We cannot wait to see what TNX has in store for us next.

There are many idols whose talents invariably go beyond their abilities to perform, hit melodious high notes, or deliver a fierce rap verse. Some also have talents that see them vividly working behind the scenes in the production of their group's hit songs. These idols either contribute to the lyrics, composition, arrangement and all-around production of these songs.
Over the years, we have come to see many K-Pop rappers having credits for their contributions either through lyrics and/or composition of many of their group's or other artists' works. This laudable aspect of K-Pop is becoming even more prevalent, especially amongst 4th generation idols. Seeking to showcase and infuse their refreshing and creative talents into the industry, it could come as a surprise to many fans that some of the 4th generation male rappers are often behind many of the hits we all enjoy today, not just with their writings but also with their arrangement and composition skills too.
Here are some of the male idols who are also amazing producers and composers.
Please note that in this list are rappers who have not just written but composed or arranged many of their group's or other artists' works.
Since his debut, HongJoong has been writing his own lyrics, which comes as no surprise when you're considered one of the best rappers today. However, his talents has also gone beyond writing as he has also been credited for the composition and arrangement of many of ATEEZ's hit songs and also his covers as well. Some of which are 'From', 'Good Lil Boy', 'Sunrise', 'Horizon', 'Celebrate', and many of his covers like 'Purple Rain' and 'Numb'. Many notably saw his arrangement brilliance during the ATEEZ's participation in the Mnet competition series "KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR", where he infused Dvořák’s 'Symphony No.9''s melody as the underlying track for their 'Wonderland' performance.
When you have 3 talented producers in your group, it is no surprise that all your songs will be hits. 3Racha is becoming a household name not just for their fire rap songs but also for their production credits as well. Like HongJoong, we got to see a glimpse of BangChan's talents during the Mnet competition series "KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR" and just like the rest of team MAYFLY, we were stunned by his talents. Combined, they are one of the most credited Idol producers on KOMCA with over 381 songs credits to their name. Some of which includes many hit songs like 'Hellevator', 'Haven', 'Back Door', 'Thunderous', 'Maniac', and 'Case 143' to name a few.
DoHyon first came into the scene during his appearance in the Mnet competition show "PRODUCE X 101". Swooning the hearts of viewers with his lovable charms, shocking duality, and fiery rap skills. Since his debut with both H&D and BAE173, he has continued to gain the favor and admiration of many fans and idols alike for not just his incredible rap or performance skills but also his production skills as well. Notably, he has contributed to the writings and composition of many of his group's songs and other artists as well. Some of his songs with both writing and composition credits are 'DaSH', 'Jaws', 'Runnin', 'Get Him Ugh' and LUMINOUS' 'Creature'.
Choi HyunSuk is an idol whose exceptional talents continue to be a source of thrill and delight to many fans. His production talents are just as fire as his rap and performance skills. And with an already impressive list of credits to his group's hit songs under his belt, it is safe to say that for years to come, Choi HyunSuk will continue to make bops with a high replay value. Some of his songs include 'Hello', 'JikJin', 'Darari', 'Clap', and 'U'.
Jang DaeHyeon's budding production talents as also caught the attention of many fans and critics alike. With tons of praise and appreciation shown towards his impressive collection of works, it is quite a delight whenever his name is seen on the credits of his group's songs. It shows his consistent desire for growth, a growth that is always evident in the production level of each song. Some of his works include 'All Or Nothing', 'Blossom', and 'Fuze'.
Castle J's brilliance is proving to be insurmountable and at this point, we can say he truly never disappoints with anything he does. A creative genius, he has honed not just his rap style but also his production techniques as well. Be it with his amazing remixes or his group's original songs, anything he touches feels and tastes like honey, and listening to those gems, it is not surprising that many fans are addicted to his songs. Some of his writing and composing credits include '#Mood', 'Top Gang', and 'Juice'.
JongSeob is notably recognized as the youngest male idol on KOMCA with 17 songs under his name as of age 16. An impressive feat that has no doubt piqued the interest of many in his talents. And as he continues to grow as a fierce rapper and a charismatic performer, he also seems to be fostering his musical production skills as well. Although he has many writing credits, as of the date of this article, he currently has one writing and composing credit for the song 'If You Call Me' on his group's album "Disharmony: Break Out".
