Balming Tiger

Reflecting the complex characteristics of Generation Z, the 21-year-old musician shows his own colors that are not limited to a specific genre, based on punk, rock, hip-hop, and electronic music. Ingenuous yet disorderly producing, and the lyrics dealing with fresh topics from a unique perspective are characteristics that can only be found in his music. Mudd also showed off his ability as an all-rounder in this album, taking charge of the entire vocal, lyrics and producing of all tracks alone.

The big theme that runs through the EP "Field Trip" is the sorrow of a beginner in society who leaves his hometown and makes a living alone. The 20-year-old young man, who is out of his family's arms, finds it difficult to endure confusion and stress in a society that runs nonstop and in an unfamiliar workplace where there is no composure. Also, problems with money and relationships cause him panic. Then he regards himself as an immature man and blames himself for a long way from becoming a true adult.

Mudd likened his first step into society to "Field Trip" and melted it on each track. Especially on the key track, he likened the failure to keep pace with the fast environment and being culled alone to "G-LOC", a phenomenon in which the pilot loses consciousness due to a sudden maneuver during flight. The composition and variation of tracks that are hard to predict, and the cluttered, "DIY" sound represent the artist's dizzy mind throughout the album. Mudd said he thinks temporary social maladjustment is a process that everyone goes through and hopes that many people will sympathize with the album.

Balming Tiger has shown unique videos every time, and the music video is also released together this time. Director Kim Na-yeon, who received high praise at various local and global film festivals such as "SIFF," "MSFF," and "AISFF," expressed the complex emotions of "G-LOC" visually.

Mudd the Student's first EP "Field Trip" will be released on all music platforms around the world at 6 p.m. on June 17 in Korean time. In addition, he is about to release a limited number of physical albums of 80mm size. Let's see how many people Mudd's first steps will affect in the future.
