"Build Up" is on its way to the finals, but there's still a lot of competition left. Here are some dark horses that could shake things up and possibly enter the final lineup.
Dyllan Mykel, Kpopmap EditorMnet's "Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival", or simply known as "Build Up", continues to pique the interest of netizens everywhere as the show moves ever forward. The 40 talented contestants has now been cut in half as the competition heats up with a flurry of mind-blowing performances. With every note, we come one step closer to finding out which four contestants will make the final debut lineup.
Now, the contestants have entered the "One Team Mission", creating 5 teams of 4 members that will last until the finals. While some might believe the winning team will ultimately be the one to make their debut, others continue to think there's still a chance for an individual mission or voting to pop up in the finals that will help to determine the outcome.
As we are all still waiting for "Build Up" to announce just how they'll form the final group lineup, here are some contestants we believe could be potential dark horses and shake everything up.
Coming over from "Peak Time", Bitsaeon has slowly been putting out statement performances that audiences should not ignore. He's a talented vocalist, able to do spellbinding falsettos and reach outstanding high notes. Even when teamed up with crowd favorites, Bitsaeon still manages to grab hold of the spotlight, causing fans to hope he'll become one of the four final members.
It can be easy for any contestant to become lost in the sea of talent participating in "Build Up". However, SunYoul has remained consistent all throughout, his pure, uplifting vocals becoming a source of strength. Even in the face of adversity, he's able to stay the course and put on a performance that leaves the entire studio speechless.
The CIX member has remained true to the title of the show, slowly building up his skills as they reach closer to the end. SeungHun has shown that he's an absolute all-rounder and while there's crowd favorites, he's hoping to have that title for himself. With his upward trajectory, making the final group lineup seems a likely course for the idol vocalist.
JUNGSOOMIN has shown a duality of being relaxed and carefree, while also being the reinvigorating vitamin to his beloved groupmates. Although he wasn't too known coming into the program, he's amassed a dedicated band of followers that hope for nothing but his success. And with every performance, he's more than proven he deserves a spot in the final lineup. Now audiences must wait and see if JUNGSOOMIN's talent takes him all the way across the finish line.
Within the first few episodes, Jeon Woong voiced his bold desire to become a "son of Mnet". And while his journey to accomplishing this has been hard fought, it seems he's slowly reaching the point where this dream might come true. He's applied all the criticism he's received to his singing technique and was finally able to impress the judges before him. With this as his first step, there's a very real chance he could make the final group lineup.

Mnet's vocal boy group survival show "Build Up" is heading towards its finale. Find out what we think about the finalists!
Ishani Sarkar, Kpopmap EditorMnet's latest vocal boy group survival show, "Build Up" is heading towards a fiery finale, and we will soon find out which vocal boy group will dominate the industry next.
Before that, however, fans are sharing their opinions on the top 5 final teams, also known as "One Teams", who will be fighting for their debut.
Check out these top 5 One Teams below and our thoughts on them, such as the concepts that would suit them, and more!
Members: Park JeUp, A.C.E's Lee DongHun, JUST B's Bain, AB6IX's Jeon Woong
We don't know about you but this group has visuals on visuals on visuals.
Masculine allure seems to be the image of the group, visually.
In terms of vocals, the members truly carry very distinct vocal colors, and it will be interesting to see how their voices melt with each other.
We imagine a sexy gentleman concept would suit this group best.
PARTNERS is gaining a lot of support from fans, with many looking forward to Park JeUp debuting in the final group.
Members: ONE PACT's Jay Chang, M.O.N.T's BITSAEON, CIX's SeungHun, Kim MinSeo
Top Tier Jay said that his goal in "Build Up" is making a group that has good-looking members who are versatile all-rounders.
It seems like he got his dream team, after all!
Even fellow contestants on the show admitted that the members of HUN-MIN-JAY-BIT are not only strong vocalists but are also incredibly handsome!
While it was a pity to see Jay's original team disband, it seems like HUN-MIN-JAY-BIT will have strong synergy and a distinct and unified musicality to show us.
This is because the members' vocal styles will probably fit well with each other.
We think a pop concept would be best suited to this group.
HUN-MIN-JAY-BIT is very popular among both Korean and international viewers.
Members: Lee GwangSeok, Lim JunHyeok, PENTAGON's Yeo One, Hwang InHyuk
It was heartwarming to see Top Tier Lee GwangSeok keep his team with the addition of a new member in the latest episode of "Build Up".
The teamwork between the original members was what took them to the next round, and we think Lee GwangSeok's trust in their continued collaboration will build up the audience's trust in them, too.
Yeo One shared that with Hwang InHyuk being different from the three other members, he would make for the perfect addition to the group, filling up a crucial gap.
We think a romantic concept would suit DO-RE-MI-FA most beautifully, and we can see them singing romance K-Drama OSTs, too!
Members: JUNGSOOMIN, JUST B's GeonU, Kim SeoHyung, Choi HaRam
With a refreshing GEN Z vibe, this group has arguably the best name.
The members have an irresistible boyish charm and are sure to attract many fans.
In addition, with JUNGSOOMIN keeping his original team and adding Choi HaRam, who fits the vibe of the group, the team's synergy is expected to be perfect, too.
Of course, this includes both vocal synergy and personal coordination because not only are the members amazing singers but also good friends!
Therefore, it is no surprise that many Korean netizens are rooting for MILKY-UP and, particularly, GeonU.
A newtro concept, a disco-funk concept, or a bright and youthful high teen concept would be perfect for MILKY-UP.
Members: UP10TION's SunYoul, Wumuti, Kang HaYoon, Choi SuHwan
This is the type of group that can make the crowd go crazy.
Even though WATER FIRE was created with the last remaining members and Top Tier SunYoul, we think it's an extremely solid team that can surprise everyone.
As the members mentioned themselves, some may think their synergy won't be as good as the others, but the passion in their eyes says otherwise.
This team was meant to be!
Every single member is a very unique and strong vocalist and they have won hearts with their personalities too.
So, the group is receiving a lot of love and support.
WATER FIRE would fit perfectly with a fantasy concept because of the members' ethereal visuals.
Which One Team are you rooting for? Tell us on X!
