Netizens Criticize Suzy About Ongoing Case With ONCE Pictures
A while back, Suzy received criticism from South Korean netizens for getting involved in an alleged sexual harassment case.
A woman known as Yang YeWon, claimed that she was sexually harassed by around fifteen men during photo shoots while also claiming that she was forced to wear revealing attires.
The case is still ongoing, but there have been substantial evidence, specifically KakaoTalk messages, to suggest that Yang actually was willing to participate in the photo shoots as long as she was paid enough money.
Yang YeWon: Could you schedule a shoot for me sometime this week? Thursday or Sunday works for me.
Studio Owner: Sunday, 1 PM?
Yang YeWon: Ok sure, I can do Sunday 1 PM.
Studio Owner: Ok, see you on Sunday.
Studio Owner: I think we might have to reschedule to Sunday 2:30 PM.
Yang YeWon: Ok sure.
Studio Owner: Thank you.
Yang YeWon: No problem, I’d be really grateful if you make sure they don’t get leaked.
Studio Owner: I’m making sure of it.
So how is Suzy involved in this incident? She supported the petition against the photography studio ONCE Pictures, only except the studio was being run by completely different people who had nothing to do with Yang by the time the case was being covered by the media. This caused the the amount of signatures signed jump drastically from 10,000 to 170,000 in just two days. But it was later revealed that Once Picture had absolutely nothing to do with Yang YeWon’s accusations.
ONCE Pictures have been demanding financial compensation from Suzy for damages, but the K-Pop idol’s agency has been fighting against the demand up until now.
Below are some of the comments left by netizens regarding the ongoing case.
“But didn’t Suzy get fooled by the YouTube woman (Yang YeWon) too?”
“If she did something wrong, she should take responsibility for it.”
“Not only is she stupid, she’s also stubborn and self righteous. Take responsibility by making compensations.”
“She should take responsibility since she wronged someone else lol If freedom of expression was her defense in expressing her support, she should also acknowledge that freedom of expression also has its consequences. She has no conscience and is so self-righteous.”
“Obviously she’s not going to make compensations, I wish she just stops acting out and take responsibility.”
The South Korean court will hand down the final decision on June 13th after the final hearing.
