July 12, 2023, marked a significant moment for fans of ODD EYE CIRCLE all over the world as the LOONA subunit officially resumed activities after six years and released a brand new EP under MODHAUS called "Version Up". The release was met with much enthusiasm, commercial success, and critical appreciation worldwide, proving the sustained popularity of ODD EYE CIRCLE. In light of this new start, Kpopmap had the incredible opportunity of sitting down with ODD EYE CIRCLE for an exclusive interview, where we asked them all about this album, what makes it so special, and more.

For those who might not know, ODD EYE CIRCLE is a girl group consisting of members Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry. They are a part of the ARTMS project under MODHAUS, which also includes LOONA's HeeJin and HaSeul. The album "Version Up" consists of 6 tracks, namely, 'Did You Wait?', 'Air Force One', 'Je Ne Sais Quoi', 'Lucid', 'Love Me Like', and 'My Secret Playlist'. It is a beautiful blend of genres that showcases the members' artistic prowess, reflects their passion and sincerity, and is full of easter eggs for long-time fans. "Version Up" makes it amply clear that ODD EYE CIRCLE still have innumerable stories to tell. So, without further ado, let's get into some of them through Kpopmap's exclusive interview with ODD EYE CIRCLE, shall we?

First of all, welcome to Kpopmap and welcome back to K-Pop, ODD EYE CIRCLE! Can you please greet global fans with one thing you’ve been waiting to say for all this time now?

We want to thank our fans first! Thank you so much for all your concerns and support towards us. Now since this is a fresh start, we’ll march on to show you the best of us! Please stay tuned!

How does it feel to return as ODD EYE CIRCLE after so many years? Have you noticed any changes in your dynamic as a team?

We have improved in many ways but since we haven’t changed as people, we have maintained the same dynamic as a team.
Kim Lip

For fans worldwide, the return of ODD EYE CIRCLE is a dream come true. Has there been any part of this process that felt or still feels like a dream come true to you?

While preparing for the comeback, we communicated a lot with our CEO! We made decisions regarding our concept, styling and more for the album together. We were just happy and excited during the whole preparation.

Did you have any personal goals or standards for this new beginning that you wanted to fulfill?

Since we haven’t been that much active as a unit, we want to meet our fans through more events and tours than before.
JinSoul

We know that some of the songs on this new album were written a long time ago. What made you decide that now was the right time to release them?

Since we had been finally satisfied with the quality of those songs, we just couldn’t wait to release them for the fans.
Kim Lip

Which song on this album are you emotionally attached to the most and why?

I am most attached to 'Je Ne Sais Quoi'! The song stole my heart with its dreamy vibe and catchy melody.
Choerry

With the exciting versatility of genres on this album, we can say that ODD EYE CIRCLE is constantly evolving sonically. In the process of making this album and challenging yourselves to new styles, did you find yourselves being drawn to a particular style or genre that you want to explore more of in the future?

We couldn’t be drawn to a single genre since everything sounded amazing. In the future, we want to produce and write our own music rather than choosing a genre.

If you had to define the artistic motto of ODD EYE CIRCLE for the past and the future, what would it be and why?

Our motto is ‘To be open minded and work together’. We are a unit with stories written by the members, the staff, and our fans.
Kim Lip

Like we mentioned earlier, fans are over the moon about your new album, even more so because it is linked to the iconic LOONAVERSE. Can you tell us about any hints or easter eggs hidden in this release that fans should look out for?

It is true that we are still continuously expanding stories based on LOONAVERSE. For instance, our title song wouldn’t have been called 'Air Force One' if Converse, the symbol of ODD EYE CIRCLE, didn't exist. The story of the song tells you to take off Converse and jump higher in a new pair of shoes. Also the song 'Did You Wait?' starts with our past songs as if you are listening to a radio and then moves on to a new theme.
Well, it’s not fun to reveal everything, so we recommend you hunt the hidden treasures by yourselves!

To amplify fans’ joy, ODD EYE CIRCLE is also going on tour! What are you most excited about? Do you have something like a tour bucket list?

We are super thrilled and excited since this is our first concert as a group of three. We can’t wait to see our fans’ reaction live. Our bucket list is to always make a mutually enjoyable stage with no regrets.
JinSoul

Were there any places you could not add to the tour this time that you would like to go to next time?

Switzerland! I’ve wanted to travel there since the moment I saw it in my school textbook.
Kim Lip

Finally, is there anything you’d like to say to fans all over the world who have been supporting you endlessly and are thrilled to have you back?
