He had also later uploaded a letter to his fans later on his Instagram, explaining why he had decided to leave the group.
Kim SungHyun shared that his father is suffering from disc injury and is unable to work because of health issues. As a result, he decided that it was the best to take care of his family first as there is no longer a direct income. Continuing, he mentioned that he had never received payment from CJ for the past 2 years and recently, the remaining members of IN2IT have been using their own money for schedules too.
He continued to share that CJ has no concrete plans for IN2IT future activities and felt that there is no longer any point to stay in the company as he has financial issues to resolve.
In order to terminate the contract, Kim SungHyun mentioned that he had to pay a sum of 120,000,000 KRW. Originally, it was said to be 350,000,000 KRW but after his father had negotiated with CJ, they had reduced the sum to 120,000,000 KRW. He had found the situation speechless as he had not received the deposits from CJ even after signing the contract.
He also apologized to his fans for not being able to keep his promise and that they had to hear such hear such heavy news. Before ending the letter, he also wished all the best to the remaining members of IN2IT.
Previously, Kim SungHyun had appeared on Mnet "Boys24" as a participant and debuted as part of IN2IT in 2017.
We wish Kim SungHyun all the best for his future!
