Producer Responsible For Assaulting The East Light Members Arrested
A while back in October, K-Pop idol group The East Light revealed that they had been abused by a producer within their agency for nearly four years.
It was shocking news for the K-Pop community as some descriptions of the abuse and assault involved strangling some of the members with electric guitar wires, beatings with baseball bats, and confining them in rooms. And what was even more difficult to understand was the fact that the agency’s CEO did not intervene, despite being aware of what was going on.
The producer responsible for the abuse, Moon YoungIl, was recently arrested on December 20th while the CEO, Kim ChangHwan, along with another representative of the agency has been prosecuted on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act.
All six members of The East Light has also terminated their contracts with Media Line Entertainment.
In addition, the group’s lawyer has also stated that the charges against Moon YoungIl will be finalized by the end of this year should things progress without any special circumstances that arises.
