Queenz Eye is a 5-member girl group, under Big Mountain Entertainment, known for their impeccable vocals and performance skills. Consisting of the members WonChae, Hannah, NaRin, AhYoon, and DaMin, the members are steadily rising to the top as more fans discover their talents.

The group debuted on Oct. 24, 2022, with their single album "Queenz Table", which I-Q (their fandom) couldn't get enough of. This time, they've made their comeback with their second single album, "UNI-Q", and the title track 'UN-NORMAL'. Many have been praising the comeback for its refreshing concept and stellar production quality. Fortunately, Kpopmap had the privilege of getting to know more about this new musical triumph.

Thanks to MyMusicTaste, Kpopmap had the honor of interviewing Queenz Eye about their recent comeback. The members shared more about the profound meaning behind their new music, their goals as a group for the rest of the year, favorite lyrics, exclusive TMIs that fans don't know yet, and more.

Queenz Eye, welcome to Kpopmap, and congratulations on your 2nd single album release with “UNI-Q”! It also happens to be your first-ever comeback. Can each member please tell us your hopes for this comeback?

It was our first comeback, and I want to express my gratitude for the sincere stage with the members and the moments of effort we put in.

With this comeback, we wanted to show our unique color more clearly. We put a lot of thought into the musical aspect so that this comeback feels even more meaningful and satisfying as a result of our hard work.
AhYoon
It was great to wrap up the comeback for our 2nd Single Album, but I’m a bit sad because I still want to continue the activities. Also, I hope our comeback goes well so that we can perform at the year-end award ceremony.
NaRin
I feel like this comeback's activities were fruitful. During the long 8-month hiatus, we worked hard to repay our fans who waited for us, and I’m satisfied and proud of it.
DaMin
We had a goal to give our best and enjoy every moment with I-Q. I’m proud that we achieved that goal and glad that we’ve successfully completed Queenz Eye’s second album. Since our journey is just beginning, please look forward to us!

If you could describe your 2nd single album “UNI-Q” in one sentence, what would it be?

The phrase, “It was summer!” comes to my mind. To me, 'UN-NORMAL' will last as a refreshing summer in my memory.

I would introduce this album as having a concept and performance that leaves no room for boredom. We put a lot of effort into various stylings such as outfits, makeup, and hair, and our performance is packed with energy, ensuring that audiences can enjoy it from the beginning to the end.

The name of your title track ‘UN-NORMAL’ is quite unique, just like the name of your album. Can you tell us more about what the title of this song means to you?

Considering the long hiatus, we aimed to turn that time into an opportunity by enhancing our individual capabilities and strengthening our team. We focused on showcasing these efforts through more polished performances and emphasizing the enjoyment of performing it together. With all the waiting and diligent preparations, we’ve infused our goals and aspirations for our second album. Despite being an easy-listening song, we anchored it with vibrant outfits and groovy performances, expressing our unique Queenz Eye's color, just as the song title suggests.

You made quite an impression on fans all over the world with ‘Yummy Yummy’ from your debut album. The dance also gained a lot of praise thanks to your witty self-choreography. Is there something that you’d like for fans to focus on in particular with this comeback?

While during our first album, we focused on showcasing our self-made choreography and the team Queenz Eye itself, for this album, we hope audiences could pay attention to the individual charms and abilities of each member and the fact that Queenz Eye can handle various genres.

Can each member please share their favorite lyric or line from ‘UN-NORMAL’?

The lyric, “You give me some thrills,” is in the Korean version and I like the word “thrills” because it carries resonance and holds various emotions.
Hannah
My favorite lyric is, “Rather than loving you in a cowardly way, tearing up is how I want it.” When I place it alongside the previous lines, it tells a story of desiring an honest and unique love, and the choice of tears among the many ways to express sincerity is quite distinctive.
AhYoon
I like the lyric, “That we’re the same can’t just be the taste, you know. Fashion
and music and loving too, oh-oh-oh,” the most because I prefer things that are special and unique rather than the same old things.
NaRin
I like the lyric from WonChae’s verse, “Can you feel my heartbeat? My face
is reddish,” it resonates with me because I can vividly imagine how that would be.
DaMin
I also love the lyric, “Can you feel my heartbeat? My face is reddish,” just
like DaMin. I find it cute how confessing honestly comes off as endearing, and the wording of the lyrics fits well, which is why I like it the most!

Queenz Eye and its members are well-known for the top-tier quality of its performances. This counts for not only your original songs but for the covers that you upload on your YouTube channel, too. Can you give fans a spoiler about which artists or songs you will be uploading covers for next?

I’m preparing a cover song that reflects my own comfortable charm!

To showcase more diverse sides and charms, we’re contemplating how to prepare both the song and the video in a certain vibe. So, please look forward to it~! Also, all the members of Queenz Eye excel in both rap and vocals, each possessing different vocal colors. I think it would be great to prepare a group vocal song that showcases these charms in various ways.

On that note, since we’re halfway through the year, could you tell us what fans can expect from you in the second half of the year? Do you have any goals for 2023 or something that you’d like to achieve?

I want to show our fans various charms of Queenz Eye, especially the
refreshing and lively side.
Hannah
Although there’s not much time left until next year, I want to set a goal of
completing a 2-minute self-composed song within this year. We’ve previously shared short self-composed songs on our official fancafe before the comeback, and building upon that, I want to share better songs with I-Q.
AhYoon
Our fans have always supported us and spoken kindly about us no matter what, and I want to repay it. Moving forward, we will try various concepts to showcase our wide genre spectrum and diverse charms. My goal for 2023 is to introduce Queenz Eye to even more people.
NaRin
I want to show Queenz Eye’s confident and charismatic charms not only in
this album but also in various ways in the future. Also, I hope to reach the top 100 on music charts in the near future!
DaMin
In the remaining time of 2023, I hope Queenz Eye can grow alongside
our I-Q and create more fun, healthy, and happy memories with our members and I-Q.

I used to wear pink glasses when I was in elementary school!

I recently visited my hometown, and coincidentally, it was the day to give my cats a bath. So, even though I might not have been much help, I bathed three cats with my mom.

I actually have semi-curly hair.
NaRin
I’m an extreme J type in MBTI, so I often find myself simulating tasks, actions, and appearances in my mind.
DaMin
When I was a student, I was in the dance club and broadcasting club.

Instant noodles!!

My favorite late-night snack is fried chicken. When I eat baked chicken, instead of fried, I feel a little less guilty.

Whenever I have a late-night snack, I always pair it with pineapple juice to quench my thirst.

I enjoy chicken feet, bingsu, or yogurt ice cream!
