A woman who claims to have been raped by Jung JoonYoung, Choi JongHoon, and three other participants of the scandalous chat room where distribution of explicit videos filmed through hidden cameras has recently sat down for an interview with reporter Kang KyungYoon, opening up about her traumatic experience.
Below is a transcript.
Q: What was your relationship with the five people?
A: I was introduced to Jung JoonYoung by someone I knew back in 2012. I knew Kim beginning in 2013. One of my friends knew SeungRi, and we all got together to hang out. In 2016, Jung JoonYoung was holding a fan signing event. He said that we should all hang out for drinks if our schedules were compatible during the time of the fan signing. I became slightly drunk but wasn’t concerned as there were two celebrities and I’ve known them for years. Eventually, I asked for another drink when we returned to our hotel suite. I remember losing conscious afterwards.
Q: What do you remember after regaining consciousness?
A: I remember having a headache after waking up and I was naked. Choi JongHoon was next to me when I woke up. He was smiling . Because I was naked, I asked him what was going on. He kept laughing and asked me if I really didn’t remember anything. The others eventually came in as well and began playing around by trying to get me to find my underwear. One of them, Heo, tried to have sex with me, but I refused and left the room after finding my clothes.
Q: Did you suspect that you might have been gang raped at the time?
A: I couldn’t remember anything after waking up. At the time, I was on meds that helped me with my panic disorder, and everything just seemed so vague. I remembered bumping my head at one point. I woke up feeling frustrated and humiliated, so I didn’t want to ask what happened. After I left, Jung JoonYoung, Choi JongHoon, and Kim all called me consecutively, telling me “see you around”.
Q: Did you remain in contact with them during the time the news of their scandal broke out?
A: I was still in contact with Choi JongHoon and Kim. Naturally, I asked them if there were any hidden camera videos of me. They told me that I had nothing to worry about and asked to meet in person. I knew I wouldn’t exactly be able to get any sincere apology from them.
Q: What lead to your decision to file a lawsuit against them?
A: It just brought me pain when thinking about that day. It was difficult and embarrassing, so I purposely didn’t talk about it. Once the scandal broke out, I realized that they weren’t who I thought they were. They were treating me like a plaything, a toy, all along. I really want justice for their actions.
Q: How did you feel before the lawsuit?
A: I’m actually worried about whether the police will investigate properly and unsure if I’ll be able to make them pay for what they did. I was told by the police that they would investigate into it, but I’ve never heard anything about them actually doing anything about it. I also don’t know what will happen to me if the police say that it wasn’t them. It’s also very frightening to think that people know that I am the victim.
Meanwhile, Choi JongHoon has been cleared of charges regarding police collusion just recently.
