Sandy, Staff WriterMany K-Pop idols are not just performers on stage; they are also in the studio producing incredible music that make K-Pop what it is. Being the ones performing on stage, they have a thorough understanding of what works and what doesn’t, allowing them to bring their own expertise into the creation of hit songs.
Idols who are involved in the composition and lyrics of songs are listed on the Korean Music Copyright Association (KOMCA)’s copyright registration list. These idols are often also involved in production and arrangement.
Listed in this article are the top 10 most copyrighted K-Pop idols as of the end of 2023 (Dec. 31). Though the list covers the top 10, there are more than 10 idols as some of them have the same amount of songs under their name, thus sharing a rank with another idol.
Ravi tops the list with an impressive 238 songs under his name. He is credited for songs for VIXX, VIXX LR, his solo songs and other artists. Well-known tracks credited to him include ‘Chained Up’, ‘Beautiful Liar’, ‘BOMB’ and GWSN’s ‘Recipe ~ for Simon’.
BTS’ leader RM is the second most copyrighted idol with 218 songs. He is credited for his group’s songs, songs for other artists and solo releases by him and the other BTS members. ‘Butter’, TXT’s ‘0X1=Lovesong (I Know I Love You)’ and ‘Do You’ are just some of his songs.
Young K is third on the list with 175 songs. He has broad experience being involved in songs for DAY6, DAY6 (Even Of Day), other artists and his solo songs. He is credited for songs including ‘Days Gone By’, Xdinary Heroes’ ‘Good enough’ and ‘let it be summer’.
In equal third place is K-Pop legend, G-Dragon. He is credited for BIGBANG’s and other artists’ songs as well as his own solo releases. Some of his songs include ‘BANG BANG BANG’, ‘그 XX (That XX)’ and ‘CROOKED’.
Another industry great, ZICO, is the fourth most copyrighted idol. He is credited for songs for Block B, other artists and himself. Some of his works include ‘Nilili Mambo’, HwaSa’s ‘Kidding’ and ‘Boys And Girls’.
Another BTS member, Suga, is the fifth most copyrighted idol currently with 169 songs. He is credited for BTS’ songs, his solo releases as Agust D and solo releases of the other BTS members. His songs include ‘Boy In Luv’, ‘Daechwita’ and JungKook’s ‘Stay Alive’.
In sixth place is Bang Chan following closely with 168 songs. Bang Chan is known to endlessly produce Stray Kids’, 3RACHA’s and other artists’ music. His songs include ‘Hellevator’, ‘Runner’s High’ and NiziU’s ‘Paradise’.
In equal sixth place is Yong JunHyung. As a former member of BEAST and Highlight, he is credited for songs of both groups. He is also a solo artist creating his own music. His songs include ‘Shadow’, ‘Celebrate’ and ‘Post It’.
MONSTA X’s JooHoney is seventh on the list. He is credited for songs of his own group, other groups and his solo releases. Some of his songs include ‘All In’, CRAVITY’s ‘JUMPER’ and ‘FREEDOM’.
Woozi, known as SEVENTEEN’s main producer, comes in at eighth. He is on top of songs for the group, its sub-units and other artists. Some songs under his name include ‘Don’t Wanna Cry’, SEVENTEEN BSS’ ‘Just Do It’ and IOI’s ‘Downpour’.
Next up is Stray Kids’ ChangBin. Like Bang Chan, he also participates in creating Stray Kids’, 3RACHA’s and other artists’ songs. Some songs under his name include ‘Maniac’, ‘Carpe Diem’ and Yoon JiSung’s ‘You… Like the wind’.
In tenth place is Han, also of Stray Kids. Han is also credited for Stray Kids’, 3RACHA’s and other artists’ music. Some songs he has been involved in include ‘District 9’, ‘Matryoshka’ and NiziU’s ‘Paradise’.

Many idols grew up outside of Seoul, and some of them in the countryside. Among those idols, some used to work in their family's farm, and if they weren't K-Pop idols, they could have become farmers!
Ash, Kpopmap EditorK-Pop idols, just like anyone else, have never always been singers, dancers, or else. Once they were also children living with their family, they all come from different kinds of backgrounds. While some still grew up in the big cities, others grew up in more rural areas and small towns around Korea. Daegu, for example, is a small town in the southern part of South Korea known for being many idols' hometown.
And if they are now shining stars around the world, their career could have been quite the opposite if they didn't make it as K-Pop idols. Of course, given their talent, there was no way they would fail to debut. But it is funny to think that any of those well-known idols could have also been a simple countryside boy working on a farm, what a cute picture. So let's see 7 male idols who grew up in the countryside and could have been farmers if they were not K-Pop idols.
It is no secret that Jay B's parents own a farm, and more specifically a tomato farm. So he grew up in a very simple environment, and while he is now a worldwide known K-Pop idol, he used to work at his parent's farm years ago when he was still a child. So if destiny didn't push him to pursue an idol career, maybe he would still be working at his parent's farm, helping with the family business!
Another well-known rural boy is, of course, V. More than once he talked about his background and family, who owns a farm in Daegu. This story was actually used as V's background story in the game BTS World, which has unfortunately been shut down. V's genuine personality probably comes from his background and how he used to live in such a rural town. He mentioned helping his parents a few times at the farm, and if he didn't become an idol, probably he would have kept up with this work.
GongChan also grew up in the countryside, or at least his grandfather lives there, and knowing how big of a fan of his grandfather's farm GongChan is, it's almost like he is from the countryside himself. His grandfather is known to own a cucumber farm, and GongChan once took the members there. As they tried GongChan's family farm cucumber, they all claimed it was delicious, as expected from fresh farm products. GongChan also often receives cucumbers sent by his grandfather. While GongChan never mentioned working at the farm with him, maybe if he wasn't an idol, he would have ended up working with his grandfather someday.
Ha SungWoon is also known for his background story and his grandfather's farm. While SungWoon grew quite close to him and paid him several visits, making him another rural boy of the industry, his grandfather still won't take an interest in SungWoon's idol career. Instead, he'd rather see him get married and have children soon, maybe in the hope that his grandchildren would take over the farm since SungWoon chose a different path! But we're sure SungWoon could have done a great job at the farm as well.
San did not grow up on a farm owned by his family, but he still could have been a farmer if he had not been part of ATEEZ. In an interview, he revealed that he had worked on a garlic farm as a teenager, and he used to harvest garlic for a part-time job. That came as a surprise for both fans and members, but knowing how devoted San can be, everyone agreed that he must have been doing a great job in the fields as well.
HakNyeon never hid his background, on the contrary, he proudly displayed it through a Vlive once, holding a baby pig as he was back home. His family owns a pig farm, and HakNyeon visits every time he gets the chance to, and also helps out at the farm. HakNyeon seems to cherish his family and their business very much, giving no doubts that he would be working there full time if he wasn't a K-Pop idol!
Mir is also known for having grown up in the countryside. His father is a wealthy farmer, and before Mir made his debut as an idol, he used to work hand in hand with his father at the farm. So once again, if he did not pursue an idol's career, he would probably still work in the family business. Knowing how hardworking he can be, it was probably a delight for his father to have him work with him in the past.
It is so heartwarming to think of those idols as little farmers, and actually, we got some previews from a few of them, and it was really sweet to see. hopefully one day we'll get more farm content from our little farm boys.
