Around 160 South Korean artists including K-Pop girl group Red Velvet have been sent to North Korea to give a special performance.
The move comes as a strategic move from South Korea to promote diplomacy and strengthen relations between the two divided nations.
Although Red Velvet member Joy was unable to join her fellow group members, the girl group was most definitely the highlight of the concert as North Korean leader Kim JongUn even adjusted his personal schedule to see them perform.
What was most surprising was the reaction seen from not just Kim JongUn, but also from the audience as well. The last time K-Pop artists performed in North Korea, they were met with indifference and boredom from the audience. This time around, however, Kim JongUn, his wife Ri SolJu, and the whole audience were nothing but smiles. In fact, they were even clapping and singing along at some point.
