Just a few days ago, it was announced that K-Pop girl group Red Velvet would be headlining as part of the artist lineup for the concerts in North Korea.
The contingent of 160 South Korea artists will be staying in North Korea from March 31st to April 3rd and will hold two concerts during their visit. Red Velvet members have expressed that 'it is an honor' to be able to perform for the audience in North Korea.
According to South Korean news agencies, it has been reported that Kim JongUn himself will most likely be attending the concerts as well.
However, fans most likely can't help but worry. North Korea is known to be ruled by one of the world's most brutal regime and currently holds US citizens as prisoners. Many previous captives have died as well. While diplomacy is a good idea and an obviously better option to resort to than war inducing behavior, the thought of K-Pop idols and artists stepping foot on hostile territory is a scary thought.
What is your opinion? Does it worry you? If so, what is your reason? Feel free to share your thoughts.
