Every once in a while, the K-Pop scene introduces a rare gem of an artist. In case you haven't heard, Nana Mellie recently broke in to the scene with her highly addictive single 'Falling'.
Signed under NSC Company, the solo female K-Pop artist boasts an impressive background as she has studied contemporary music and songwriter at Musician's Institute in Los Angeles. Naturally, it's not just her unique vocals that makes her an artist to keep an eye on at the moment, but it's also her melodic songwriting that adds an extra glimmer to her artistry.
Na SangCheon, the former A&R and director for K-Pop idol girl group Girl's Day, emphasized
"She is an artist equipped with not just unique vocals but also a natural sense for writing, making the prospects of her finding widespread success highly probable." Given the fierce competition within the K-Pop scene in this modern age, especially when it has become a global phenomenon thanks to the likes of global super stars BTS, it is more important than ever for a K-Pop artist to have qualities that allows them to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack.
Her latest single 'Falling' is a song that is heavily US pop-influenced laced with an energetic and futuristic synth-based track.
