S. Korean Court Rules In SM Entertainment’s Favor Over Former EXO Member Tao
SM Entertainment, having battled against the final former EXO member in court, has finally managed to get the court to rule in their favor.
However, it isn’t too surprising since the dispute was settled in a South Korean court. Former EXO member Tao filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment back in 2015 for an unfair contract agreement that limited his career as an individual artist.
This, of course, isn’t the first time that something like this has happened within SM Entertainment. Other former EXO members such as Kris Wu and Luhan took similar legal action against the entertainment agency.
Despite having won the recent case against Tao’s final appeal, Tao has, in fact, won his right to be free from contractual bindings with SM when the Second Intermediate People’s Court of Beijing ruled that the contractual rights do not apply to the former K-Pop idol.
