The music industry is no doubt a very complicated and political environment at times.
Some CL fans at the moment are speculating that Scooter Braun, the industry professional responsible for some of the biggest pop acts including Justin Bieber, had something to do with CL’s long hiatus.
But it’s slightly complicated as it also involves several other high-profile artists including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and former EXO member Kris Wu.
In the past, there have been rumors that the reason why Kris Wu’s album was removed from iTunes was because Scooter Braun used his influence to have them out of the competition. And Ariana Grande liking a comment regarding this rumor lead fans to believe that this may be true.
And being signed to Scooter Braun’s label, CL seemingly had things all set to promote in the US. But the only problem was, none of her music never saw the light of day. And according to her, there were approximately two hundred and counting songs that have been recorded. Yes, two hundred. But not a single one of them have been released. While most pointed fingers at YG Entertainment for this, fans are currently thinking that it might not just be YG Entertainment but other factors as well.
It all started with Jaime Brooks’s tweet.
k-pop fans probably have more cause to be angry at scooter braun than anyone and i really hope one day they find out why

Indirectly telling us he played a part at destroying CL’s career too https://t.co/HhRobnHauB

There have even been suggestions that YG Entertainment and Scooter Braun intentionally prevented K-Pop acts from being successful in the US music market.
Y’all I think it’s because scooter braun worked with yg to block radio play for kpop artists and also scooter wants to own Taylor’s music it sort of makes sense that’s why she tweeted that.

If Scooter did anything near BTS, then it’s over for him…
We will make sure of that 🙈
