The South Korean entertainment industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor Song MinHyung (real name Song GwiHyun), who has passed away. Song MinHyung began his acting career in 1966 with KBS's 'The Ugly Duckling,' and after a brief period living in the United States, he made a splendid return in 1995 with SBS's 'LA Arirang.' During his lifetime, he confessed to have been fighting a long battle with liver cancer. Appearing on MBN's 'Talk Show Doenjang,' he revealed that he had suffered from liver cancer four times and continued filming while enduring difficult times during chemotherapy. He shared how he forced himself to eat loach soup and porridge to withstand the pain of chemotherapy. His efforts and courage moved many people.
Song MinHyung's wake was held at Seoul Red Cross Hospital Funeral Hall Room 201 in Jongno-gu, Seoul, with the funeral scheduled for 6 a.m. on the 5th. The burial will be at Seoul Municipal Seunghwa Won.
While his passing has brought great sorrow to many, the works he left behind and his passion will be remembered for a long time.
