South Korean Actor Park BoGum’s Dark Past Involving Massive Debt And Bankruptcy
South Korean actor Park BoGum may be a superstar, but his path to success was by no means an easy one.
His father borrowed around $260,000 from a company in order to start a business during his teenage years. And according to the reports of South Korean news agencies, the actor was the legal surety on paper. This meant that when the business failed, Park BoGum was responsible for his father’s debt.
By the time the debt had to be paid, it amounted to nearly $700,000, an enormous amount that was too much for him to cover at such a young age. It was at that time in 2014 when he filed for bankruptcy.
Ironically, the actor has also once played the role of a debtor’s son in the movie ‘Coin Locker Girl’. He revealed that acting the role was tough because there were so many difficult things about the character that he actually faced in real life.
