South Korean Lawmakers Propose To Establish ‘Sulli Act’

SM Entertainment

With recent news of K-Pop idol Sulli having committed suicide, people are angry and they are demanding change.

How long has it been since people, not just celebrities, had to deal with malicious comment writers who hide behind their computers and anonymity? Pretty much forever ever since social media took over the world.

Many have been blaming hate comment writers for Sulli’s tragic suicide.

And it’s not hard to see why as the former f(x) member was not a stranger when it came to having her social media accounts being flooded with hate comments.

Just recently, a few members of the Korean National Assembly proposed to establish the ‘Sulli Act’ to reinforce the regulations and consequences more severely towards people who write malicious comments online.

At the moment, it is just an idea and we will have to wait and see if the South Korean government acts in order to fight hate comment writers.

It is unfortunate that such a terrible price had to be paid for even just the idea of change to be brought forth as a proposition.

Stay tuned for updates!
