Did you know that ChungHa’s birth name is actually Kim ChanMi?
On an online community, one netizen shared that he or she was surprised to find out that her birth name was not ChungHa and that she had also yet to officially change her name to ChungHa.
Quoting from a interview ChungHa had done, the idol shared that she had felt there is a difference when she is 'ChungHa' and when she is 'ChanMi'. She believes that ChungHa is rather confident but there are also times when ChanMi is different. As such, the idol is sorry towards 'ChanMi' since she felt that it was during the time when she is 'ChanMi' when she had to go through the hard times.

Adding on, although 'ChungHa' might appear strong looking, she thinks that it is actually 'ChanMi' who is the stronger one. Because of that reason, she felt that if people were to call her by her birth name 'ChanMi', she felt that there are many moments when she would be choked up by her emotions.

It then became a hard decision for her to change her name officially to ChungHa as she had also revealed that her grandmother had all along known her as 'ChanMi' before passing away. She was worried that she would be lose 'ChanMi' if she were to change her name.
Reading the interview, many netizens were also surprised to find out that ChungHa was not her birth name.

Some were also shocked to see that participants from Mnet "Produce 101" Season 1 were allowed to use other than the birth name as they thought that had to apply with their birth name. Because of that, many had all along thought that ChungHa was her birth name.
ChungHa will be holding her fanmeeting on Feb. 8 at Yonsei University and also recently released a track, 'Loveship' with solo artist, Paul Kim.
