With the majority of K-Pop idols having well above average visuals, it is inevitable that people will begin wondering just how much of it is natural. Cosmetic surgery on both the body and the face has been a topic that has clouded over K-Pop idols ever since the beginning. After all, the career path of an idol entails having to look good, otherwise, they can’t be defined as an idol in the traditional sense in South Korea. And additionally, the nation is well-known to be a place where your looks can determine many things in life.

Hip-hop and R&B artist Jessi recently spoke about the issue during an interview on MBC’s Section TV. She has been the center of attention lately after releasing her single ‘Down’. Cosmetic surgery is for unfortunately ugly people. Does that mean the majority of K-Pop idols are unfortunate and ugly people who lack everything?

i never understood plastic surgery. its just basically lying to everyone. i’m all in favor of the chinese guy on the news who divorced his wife after finding out through their first baby that she wasn’t as hot as she appeared after gettign surgery. it also promotes more materialistic values, (we already have enough without appearances having to come into the picture in this world), honestly, you hav to admit you’d feel disappointed one way o ranother if you find out that someone you were attracted to had surgery to look the way they do.

1)I don’t get how it’s lying if she was real about it
2)The picture wasn’t of a real family. It was for an ad or something and bc of rumors like what you’re saying the girl struggles to get a job (and if I remember correctly, got dumped by her bf).
