Tokopedia, Indonesia’s leading technology company with the largest marketplace in the country, today announced the global superstars, BTS, as it's Brand Ambassador. BTS is a seven-member South Korean boy band under Big Hit Entertainment, formed in 2013, with RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook as the members. BTS' remarkable growth and record-breaking achievements in the past years have made the group to become Tokopedia’s brand persona and is expected to leverage their sturdy popularity to further extend Tokopedia’s large user base.
William Tanuwijaya, Tokopedia Co-Founder and CEO, stated that the group’s journey and vision, along with the messages that they are consistently trying to convey, are aligned with that of the company. “BTS is a group that is changing the music industry, despite all of the limitations and challenges that were presented to them. In their recent Corporate Briefing, the group’s label, Big Hit Entertainment, shared the company’s vision in the future and its goal to be a leader of innovation in the music industry.
With this partnership, Tokopedia is also announcing ‘Tokopedia #1Everyday’ campaign where all users can visit Tokopedia every single day to find exciting surprises, product suggestions, and different promos daily. The campaign hopes to encourage and empower people to always strive for their best every day, and Tokopedia will accompany the journey every step of the way in finding, pursuing and achieving their dreams. As the company’s Brand Ambassador, BTS will release exclusive content that will only be available on Tokopedia platform. More information will be announced on a later date.
BTS was chosen as one of the Most Influential People 2019 by TIME magazine, noting their strong influence as a force that reshapes the world. They gave a speech at the United Nations, was the first Korean act that ranked no. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold out stadium concerts across the United States and Europe, including LA’s Rose Bowl Stadium and London’s Wembley Stadium.
