What a time to be a K-Pop fan! As the popularity and demand for K-Pop grows exponentially over time, fans are blessed with more music from innumerable artists, diverse genres, and distinct styles. Now, when it comes to K-Pop, one inseparable genre is rap. Needless to say, K-Pop's treatment of rap is unique to the industry and has almost become a trademark. So, here are 5 talented male K-Pop rappers who delivered some of the best rap verses of the year and definitely deserve more attention for the same.

1. Stray Kids' HyunJin - 'Topline'

One of the best collaborations of the year, between Stray Kids and the god of Korean rap, Tiger JK, for 'Topline' is legendary, to say the least. It is a rap-heavy track and all the rappers serve flawless bars but HyunJin stands out with his distinct tone, complemented perfectly by his effortlessly smug delivery. The man's got style, and it shows! From flow to enunciation, you just cannot deny that HyunJin kicked it out of the park with this one, proving his mettle as a force to be reckoned with.

2. KARD's J.Seph - 'Been That Boy'

KARD's comeback has been one of the most highly anticipated events in the K-Pop fandom recently, and the buzz it created soon after "Icky" dropped was certainly a highlight of the year. With each track, J.Seph came through with the most impressive and, more importantly, memorable verses that re-established his position in the K-Pop industry as one of the finest rappers around. Everything about his verse in 'Been That Boy' is classic J.Seph. Be it technique, the offbeat flow or the lyrics, we just can't get over this one.

3. xikers' YeChan - 'Koong'

xikers has only just debuted, and the group is already climbing up the ranks of the most popular and talented rookie groups of 2023. One of the many strengths of the group is its power-packed rap line, with each member bringing something new to the table. YeChan, in particular, has shown incredible potential, especially with tracks like 'Koong', where we can see his stylistic individuality shine. YeChan makes us excited for the future of rap in K-Pop and we cannot wait to see what he has in store for us next.

4. SF9's ZuHo - 'New World'

Throughout his illustrious career, ZuHo has been known, praised, and loved for his unconventional, unmatched rap style. Every time he is on the mic, he spits fire and brilliance. So, it is no surprise that this year too, ZuHo gave us yet another rap verse to blow our minds in 'New World'. ZuHo's musicality, combined with his husky tone and offbeat rap makes for a verse that is unlike anything we've heard before and for that, ZuHo deserves all the appreciation in the world. We can't help but want more!

5. P1Harmony's JongSeob - 'Heartbeat Drum'

One of the best of his generation, P1Harmony's JongSeob is a master of his craft. At such a young age, JongSeob already has a grasp on his own identity as an artist and the music that he wants to make. This confidence shines through beautifully in his work, which is what makes it all the more appealing. What's even more impressive is JongSeob's versatility when it comes to rapping. He is the one who commands the beat, not the other way around, and 'Heartbeat Drum' is a great example of the same.
