After 9 whole years, Pledis Entertainment is reportedly preparing to debut a boy group in early 2024. This will be the company's first boy group since SEVENTEEN. So, attention is focused on the member lineup of this new boy group.

According to an exclusive report by JTBC, this new boy group under Pledis will have a smaller number of members - around 5 or 6. Foreign members are also included in this lineup. Given Pledis' track record of creating extremely talented and successful idol groups, such as AFTER SCHOOL, NU'EST, and SEVENTEEN, expectations are high for this new 5th-generation boy group.

The trainees who are part of this upcoming group are referred to as Pledis Boyz by fans. They were spotted at SEVENTEEN's fan-meeting, raising anticipation for the lineup reveal.

1. Daniel (Kim DongKyu)

Pledis Entertainment trainee and I-LAND contestant Daniel, also known as Kim DongKyu, is rumored to debut in the new Pledis boy group in 2024. He is Korean-American and has dual citizenship. He was born on March 26, 2006, making him 17 years old. He is currently enrolled in Hanlim Multi Art School in the Department of Applied Music. He is 183cm tall, and his MBTI is INFJ.

 

2. JJ (Justin Jay Takagi)

Hugely popular and beloved trainee JJ, who is known for being a former member of the pre-debut boy group Trainee A, is rumored to be in the debut lineup of Pledis' new boy group. Many fans are looking forward to seeing this talented young trainee debut. JJ is Japanese-American with dual citizenship. He was born on January 27, 2006, making him 17 years old. His specialties are krumping and locking, and he has won many dance competitions.

 

3. Han JiHoon

Former Trainee A member Han JiHoon is also rumored to be a part of Pledis' upcoming boy group. He is Korean, born on March 28, 2006 (17 years old). JiHoon is also enrolled in Hanlim Multi Art School in the Department of Practical Dance. His MBTI is INFP, and he is 183cm tall. He can also play the guitar.

 

4. Lee DaEul

"Boys Planet" contestant Lee DaEul is rumored to be in the member lineup of the new boy group of Pledis Entertainment. He stole hearts during his appearance on "Boys Planet", and now, fans are ready to see him debut. DaEul is Korean, born on April 6, 2004, making him 19 years old. He graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School (Musical Department). He is also interested in acting. His MBTI is ENTP, and he is 171cm tall. You can follow him on Instagram - @luneldaeul.

 

5. Lee KyungMin

Not much is known about this trainee, but he is rumored to be included in the member lineup of the new Pledis boy group. He is said to be born in 2007, and he passed the Pledis audition in 2022.

1. tripleS

TripleS is a new group under MODHAUS that will establish the world's first fan-participating girl group. They are expected to be a 24-member group that combines NFTs with K-Pop. They will rotate members between the group and sub-units all based on fans' opinions. They have been said to debut in 2023. The TripleS sub-unit Acid Angel from Asia made its debut on Oct. 28. Their second sub-unit +(KR)ystal Eyes will be the next debut followed by a 10-member sub-unit. The group finally made their debut on February 13.

 

2. LIMELIGHT

LIMELIGHT is a new group under 143 Entertainment. They released a pre-debut mini album on Sep.29, 2022, and debuted on February 14.

 

3. KANDIS

KANDIS is a new group under 60DGRS. They released a pre-debut mixtape "Show Me Your Vibe" on March 14, 2022, and finally debuted on August 27.

 

4. THE7

THE7 is a new group under Ganada Entertainment. The Thai members of the group were selected through a survival show. The group debuted on January 29.

 

5. XODIAC

XODIAC is a new group under the Chinese company One Cool Jasco. The group has debuted in Korea on April 25.

 

6. BXB

BXB is a 5-member boy group that has debuted on January 30 under Wolfburn. They started to release pre-debut songs since June 2022.

 

7. 8TURN

8TURN is a new group under MNH Entertainment. They are debuted on January 30.

 

8. HAWW

HAWW is a new group under Biscuit Entertainment. Their name stands for "Heall All the World Wide", and they debuted Febuary 23. JeongGeun is the younger brother of former ASTRO's Rocky. Read about their relationship here.

 

9. WHIB

WHIB is a new group under CJeS Entertainment. One of the members, InHong was a contestant on the TV Show "YG TREASURE BOX" alongside JinBeom. They debuted on November 8.

 

10. n.SSign

n.SSign is a new group formed through the survival show "Stars Awakening". They are set to be active for two years, until they were able to finally debut on August 9.

 

11. EASTSHINE

EASTSHINE is a new group under TM Entertainment. They debuted on November 16.

 

12. xikers

KQ Fellaz is a pre-debut group signed under KQ Entertainment. The agency announced the members of their pre-debut group last August 2022. They are said to be scheduled to debut on the first half of 2023.

13. BABYMONSTER

BABYMONSTER is a new girl group under YG Entertainment. The agency announced the new girl group last year, on December 30. Check out this article to know more about BABY MONSTER.

Update: The group is debuted on November 27.

 

14. RIIZE

SM Entertainment is said to debut a whole new boy group in 2023. The group is said to be debuting on the 2nd half of 2023. The speculated members are the new male SM ROOKIES.

Update: SM Entertainment announced that they will be debuting RIIZE on September 4. They boy group will be debuting with 7 members, including former NCT members Shotaro and SungChan. 

 

15. LUN8

Fantagio has announced that they aiming to debut their new group, LUN8, on the first half of this year. The label has revealed 8 trainees who will be debuting: Ian, JunWoo, Takuma, JinSu, EunSeop, Chael, Ji EunHo, and DoHyun.

16. ZEROBASEONE

Mnet is forming a boy group through "Boys Planet", the boy group version of the "Girl's Planet 999". The survival idol program will be broadcasting its first episode on February 23. However, the boy group formed after the program yet to be confirmed to be debuting in the same year.

17. FE:VERSE

"GIRL'S RE:VERSE" is a idol survival show that aims to create a virtual girl group of 5 members. The survival program has 30 participants who dream to debut in a new world of virtual reality. The participants' names and identities are hidden, which is a fresh concept offered by the survival show. The girl group debuted on May 9.

Update: The "GIRLS RE:VERSE" final debut group has been announced and so has their group name. Their group name will be FE:VERSE and you can read about which idols make up the group in this article.

 

18. FANTASY BOYS

"Fantasy Boys" or "My Teenage Boys" is an idol survival program to be launched by MBC. This program is the male version of the previous idol survival program "My Teenage Girls". The program is scheduled to start airing on February 2023. Unlike the group formed in the previous season, the final debut group is likely to work as a short-term project group. The group formed after the program wraps up not yet confirmed to debut within the same year.

Update: The final debuting group from "Fantasy Boys" have been announced and the group will be called FANTASY BOYS. The debut date is not yet revealed but they are scheduled to debut within the year. Check out more information about FANTASY BOYS here.

19. BOYNEXTDOOR

KOZ Entertainment is also scheduled to debut a boy group in 2023. The agency has been said to be preparing for the debut of a boy group since the previous year, and it even held an audition program to find the perfect rapper for the said boy group. The boy group is slated to debut in the 1st quarter of 2023.

Update: KOZ Entertainment has announced that their new boy group "BOYNEXTDOOR" is debuting on May 30.

 

20. MAVE

MAVE is a virtual girl group debuting under METAVERSE Entertainment and is produced together with Kakao Entertainment. The girl group is debuted on January 25.

 

21. HANA

HANA is an 8-member girl group under Artcompany SOUL. They debuted on January 8.

 

22. ADYA

starting House mate is a pre-debut girl group under the starting House Entertainment. The agency announced that they will be debuting a girl group on 2022 but as they haven't made the debut, fans are expecting that 2023 will be their debuting year.

Update: ADYA debuted under starting House Entertainment on May 9.

 

23. PRIMROSE

The duo debuted on January 13 under A.O Entertainment.

 

24. KISS OF LIFE

S2 Entertainment is reported to be debuting a girl group of 5 members, and it is rumored that former JYP trainee and "SIXTEEN" contestant Natty, Julie Han (Former YG & Swing trainee), and Belle (who composed (G)I-DLE MiYeon's tracks 'Softly' & 'Charging'; she also was behind the female vocals for NCT Mark's Child) will be part of their lineup. There are no annoucement of the exact date of their debut.

Update: KISS OF LIFE has debuted in July 5 with 4 members, including the 3 mentioned trainees above, and HaNeul.

 

25. MOONCHILD

A girl group produced by CDL Entertainment, and co-produced by HYBE Labels Japan is scheduled to debut in 2023. The group was formed from the idol survival program "iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~". Update: The girl group from audition program "iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~" will be debuting as MOONCHILD, with 5 members - Ruan, Uwa, Anri, Hana, and Mirano. They officially debuted on May 3.

 

26. YOUNG POSSE

BEATS Entertainment is also expected to be debuting a girl group after the management agency accepted applications to audition in 2021. Further information is yet to be revealed by the agency.

Update: BEATS Entertainment and DSP debuted YOUNG POSSE on October 18.

 

27. 82MAJOR

RARE HOUSE is a group of trainees signed under Great M Entertainment.

Update: 82MAJOR debuted on October 10 with 6 members.

 

28. Catch The Young

Catch The Young (formerly know as Evermore The Young) is a trainee boy band under Evermore Entertainment. The currently members of the band are NamHyun, KiHoon, and SaNi. The group was expected to debut in 2022 but since they haven't debuted yet, fans are speculating that the band will be debuting in 2023.

Update: The band debuted on November 1.

 

29. X:IN

X:IN is a 5-member girl group under ESCROW Entertainment. The girl group has made their debut on April 11, and the debut members are RoA, Chi.U, E.sha, Nova, and Aria.

30. HORI7ON

HORI7ON is a 7-member boy group debuting under MLD Entertainment. The group was formed through the survival program "Dream Maker," which was broadcast on Philippine television in 2022. The boys debuted in the Philippines on March 22, and are scheduled to debut in Korea in July 24. 

 

31. The Wind

The Wind is a boy group with 7 members, signed under With US Entertainment (a subsidiary of Around Us Entertainment). The group debuted on May 15.

 

32. CMDM

CMDM is a new boy group under Command The-M Entertainment. The boys debuted on April 27.

 

33. Blossom

Rainbow E&M debuted Blossom, one of the teams that participated in "Future Idol," an idol development project by company. They debuted on July 21.

 

34. POW

GRID Entertainment is reported to debuting a boy group in the latter half of 2023. Former Trainee A's Yorch Yongsin was announced to have joined the agency, and is said to be part of the debuting boy group.

Update: POW debuted on October 11 with their mini album "Favorite."

 

35. EVNNE

After their participation in the idol survival program "Boys Planet," the WAKEONE trainees are speculated to be debuting in 2023 as well. There are no official announcements as to whether the 4 trainees will be joined by more trainees.

Update: "Boys Planet" trainees Keita, Park HanBin, Lee JeongHyeon, Yoo SeungEon, Ji YunSeo, Mun JungHyun, and Park JiHoo are announced to be debuting as part of the boy group EVNNE. The group's activities will be managed by Jellyfish Entertainment. The group debuted on September 19.

 

36. PLAVE

PLAVE is a virtual boy group consisted of 5 members. They made their debut under VLAST on March 12.

 

37. SEVENUS

Former MASC members HeeJae and Ireah redebuted as SEVENUS under PCS Entertainment on July 31.

 

38. JANUARY

JANUARY is a 4-member girl group who debuted on August 24.

 

39. E:LFIN

E:LFIN is currently a 3-member girl group who debuted on July 18. Auditions are still being held for additional members that will be added into the group later on.

 

40. TMC

TMC is a duo who released a pre-debut digital single in June, and made their official debut on August 10.

 

41. BABYS

BABYS is a 3-member girl group who debuted on June 20 with their first single album "Unlock It."

 

42. Two Sisters

Two Sisters is a trot duo who debuted under JG STAR Entertainment on June 19, with their single 'Love's Macchiato'.

 

43. Bunny.T

Bunny.T is a 4-member girl group who debuted on June 19 under W2 Company.

 

44. (M)IRROR

(M)IRROR is a 5-member boy group who has debuted on May 12 under ConH Entertainment, with their 1st single album "White Moon."

 

45. ikling

ikling is a 4-member independent project girl group made up of non-trainees who are trying to become an idol. The group debuted under Dahaum Entertainment on April 28.

 

46. WE:A

WE:A is 4-member boy group consisting of former members of the boy group Bigflo. The group redebuted on March 29.

 

47. Delight

Delight, one of the teams that participated in "Future Idol," an idol development project by Rainbow E&M, debuted on March 31.

 

48. JUJU SECRET

JUJU SECRET is a project girl duo formed through the show "Hangout With Yoo." The 2 members are actress Park JinJoo and Lee MiJoo. The duo debuted on March 25 with their digital single 'Lonely Night'.

 

49. RuViChe

RuViChe is a 4-member trot girl group who debuted on March 23 under S-Media Solution with their single 'Minsu of Delivery'.

 

50. QI.X

QI.X is a 4-member group made up of queer members. They made their debut under the independent label Sweet Potato Productions on March 22.

 

51. LA FLOR

LA FLOR is a 5-member girl group formed by the Ulsan Ivy Broadcasting Arts Academy. The group previously debuted in 2022 under the name Luminous but has redebuted in March 13 of this year.

 

52. A-Plus

A-Plus is a girl group made up of Howon University students are majoring in the K-Pop department. They debuted on March 1 with their single 'Candle Light'.

 

53. Ascension

Ascension, one of the teams that participated in "Future Idol," an idol development project by Rainbow E&M, debuted on February 24 with their single 'Like A Star'.

 

54. Clair

Clair is another girl group from "Future Idol" who debuted on February 10 with their single 'Dubi dubi dum dum'.

 

55. Cherish

Another group from "Future Idol," Cherish is a girl group that debuted under Rainbow E&M on January 12.

 

56. EL7Z UP

EL7Z UP is the 7-member project girl group formed from the idol survival program "Queedom Puzzle." The girls made their official debut as a new group on September 14.

 

57. Loossemble

Loossemble is a new 5-member girl group made of 5 LOONA members HyunJin, YeonJin, ViVi, Go Won, and HyeJu. They debuted on September 15.

 

58. TOZ

TOZ is a 4-member boy group debuted on September 27 under YY Entertainment. The members Anthonny, Hart (Haruto), Takuto, and Yuto are all previous participants of the idol survival program "Boys Planet."

 

59. AMPERS&ONE

FNC Entertainment announced that they are preparing to debut a new boy group. It is reported that the group will be debuting with 7 members. The debut date of the new group is not yet announced.

Update: AMPERS&ONE debuted on November 15, 2023.

 

60. ONE PACT

ONE PACT is another boy group set to debut under Ganada Entertainment for the 2nd half of 2023. The group is made up of Boys Planet trainees JongWoo, Jay Chang, SeongMin, and YeDam, and former Ciipher member TAG. 

Update: ONE PACT debuted on November 11.

 

61. eite

eite is a 7-member girl group that debuted under EVA Entertainment on November 3.

1. YOUNITE 

Brand New Music has launched a full-fledged debut plan for their new boy group. This new boy group is Brand New Music's first group with a large number of members. The group will consist of multi-talented members, including Lee EunSang, who is currently working as a solo artist.

They will be debuting in the first half of 2022.

2. NMIXX

JYP will introduce a new girl group for the first time in three years since ITZY. Without disclosing any information about the rookie group, JYP held an unusual promotion to pre-sell their debut single in a limited edition, "Blind Package," and recorded 61,667 pre-orders. Three members JinNi, JiWoo, and KyuJin. can be seen for the first time in the cover video of Cardi B's "Press".

3. BLAZE

BLAZE is a pre-debut group under MUGIT Entertainment that currently consists of three members. The members were originally part of a dance team.

They are expected to debut in the first half of 2022.

Update: BLAZE will likely debut as 2 members. They filmed their debut music video with only 2 members (HaeNa and SaeHa).

Update: The duo debuted on Jan. 28 with the digital single 'Funny Game'.

 

4. TEMPEST

TEMPEST is a pre-debut boy group under YueHua Entertainment. This group will allegedly consist of Ahn HyeongSeop and  Lee EuiWoong who were both contestants on "Produce 101 Season 2" and Han Bin who was a contestant on "I-LAND". Nothing has been confirmed yet.

5. TAN

"Extreme Debut: Wild Idol" is an MBC variety show where trainees have to fight to become idols out in the wild. The show uses extreme criteria to eventually choose 7 boys who will become part of a new boy group.

The group's debut date has not been confirmed yet, however, the show started in Sep. 2021, and is still airing, meaning that the group is likely to debut in 2022.

Update: The group's name is TAN and their debut has been confirmed for 2022. Meet the members of TAN who made the final debut group. They debuted on March 10 with the mini-album "1TAN" and the title track 'FIX YOU'.

 

6. TNX

P NATION LOUD is one of the resulting debut teams from the survival program "LOUD" with 7 members. Their debut date has yet to be confirmed but they are likely to debut in 2022.

Update: P NATION announced that Koki would not be debuting with the current group as they feel he still needs to undergo more training. P NATION LOUD is now a 6-member boy group. Their official name has also been announced as TNX.

Update: TNX made their debut on May 17 with their mini-album "WAY UP".

 

7. mimiirose

This group is a 6-member pre-debut girl group under Yes IM Entertainment. Their CEO is non-other than the famous Korean ballad singer Lim ChangJung. They are said to be debuting in March or April of 2022.

Update: The group debuted on Sep. 16. with the single album 'AWESOME'.

 

8. &TEAM

The audition program &AUDITION will be held in Japan and released on YouTube next year. K, Nicholas, EJ, Taki, and previous contestants from Mnet's "I-LAND" will join the show to become HYBE's new boy group.

Update: &TEAM debuted on Dec. 7 with the mini-album "First Howling: Me" and title track 'Under The Skin'.

 

9. NewJeans

HYBE announced a new independent label called ADOR headed by Min HeeJin. They are preparing to debut a new girl group in 2022 that will have members recruited during HYBE's 2019 "Plus Global Audition".

Update: The group's name has been announced and they are called 'NewJeans'. They have pre-released music but will make their official debut on August 1st. Read all about the group in this article.

10. TRENDZ

TRENDZ is a pre-debut 7-member boy group under Interpark Music Plus that was formerly known as INTER BOYS. They are said to be debuting in January of 2022.

11. H1-KEY

12. Kep1er

At the start of the year, Mnet mentioned that they will be launching a new project to create a new girl group with members from Korea, Japan, and China called "GIRLS PLANET 999". More information about the program can be found here.

While they are still recruiting participants until mid-February, it is still unsure when they will be broadcasting the first episode and eventually debut the new group.

Update: The final debut group has been chosen. Their name is Kep1er. Here is an article with everything we know about Kep1er so far. Unfortunately, due to one of their staff members testing positive for COVID-19, their debut has been postponed to Jan. 3, 2022.

13. LAPILLUS

MLD Entertainment will be debuting a new girl group in the first half of 2022. So far, they have announced two members of the group. One is Chantal Videla (who is Filipino and Argentinian) and Nonaka Shana (from "GIRLS PLANET 999").

14. GOT: Girls On Top

SM Entertainment has formed a project girl group consisting of BoA, Girls' Generation's TaeYeon and HyoYeon, Red Velvet's SeulGi and Wendy, and aespa's Karina and Winter. They will performing a special stage at the SMCU EXPRESS concert in January.

Update: The group released their first song 'Step Back' on Jan. 3.

 

15. ILY:1

FCENM will be debuting a 6-member girl group in the first half of 2022 including contestants from "GIRLS PLANET 999".

Update: FCENM revealed the final members of the group and they include Hana, Ririka, Rona, Nayu, Ara, and Elva. ILY:1 were initially going to debut on March 15 but their debut got postponed to April 4.

Update: ILY:1 made their debut on April 4 with the single album "Love in Bloom".

 

16. CLASSy - "My Teenage Girl" girl group

"My Teenage Girl" is a survival show that will air until February 2022. The show aims to debut a 7-member girl group with an international reach.

CLASSy made their debut on May 5 with the mini-album "Class Is Over".

 

17. BLANK2Y

Keystone Boyz is a pre-debut 9-member boy group under Keystone Entertainment. Two members have been announced so far (YoungBin and TaeWoo). Their debut date has not been confirmed but they will be releasing content in the form of a show to their fans in March.

18. CSR (First Love)

05Class is a 7-member pre-debut girl group under JPlanet Entertainment. They were scheduled to debut in the remainder of 2021 but there has been no recent news about their debut. The group gets its name from the fact that all of the members were born in 2005.
