Wolmi Park was previously used by the Ministry of National Defense to house military barracks for over 50 years. It was redeveloped by the city of Incheon and opened as a community space on September 10, 2001. City officials recognized the land’s history and well-preserved, natural environment and transformed it into an ecological and historical domain accessible to all. The space was further organized into areas like the Traditional Garden Section, which is home to a variety of gardens patterned after those of the past. These carefully-planned sections that preserve the area’s natural beauty have won the park a spot in the hearts of visitors everywhere. A glass observatory on top of Wolmi Mountain is open to the public free of charge and grants visitors a spectacular view of Incheon International Airport and Incheon Port.
