One of the best parts about IDOLCON is that you have back to back concerts from your favorite artists!
Among the four main attractions, the main stage is dedicated solely for the hottest mini live performances. Centered right in the middle of IDOLCON, a large stage stands with bright lights and LED backdrops. In a time frame of every 20 minutes, a new group comes on stage to perform in front of their fans – and we’ve met plenty throughout the day!
Take a look to see which hot-tastic stages were held at the Mini Live Stage at IDOLCON 2017!
The first mini live stage was held by none other than hot rookies, MVP. The 7 boys took the stage to perform a total of 3 songs. From their title track ‘Take It’ to an amazing dance performance of their intro song, ‘Manifest’, the boys showcased their various stage appeals this afternoon. As the members got to know their fans better by introducing themselves, the main vocalist GiTaek even performed a short live ballad. Although it’s only been a short while since they debuted, we noticed a lot of foreign fans had come to see the boys at IDOLCON.
The next live stage that we attended was none other than our good friends, VICTON. VICTON opened up with a back to back performance of their title songs, ‘EYEZ EYEZ’ and ‘What Time Is It Now?’. What we loved about VICTON was that they’ve grown to own the stage since the time we saw them at their debut showcase. SeJun freely threw out finger hearts and even winked at the fans while performing – and the fans went wild. The group continued their kalgunmu stages with ‘I’m Fine’ and ‘LASTSONG’.
Not only can you meet your favorite groups at IDOLCON, you can also be introduced to your new biases. G9, a new girl group that has yet to debut, took the stage for a mini live concert. The group consists of 9 members with a completely different feel from the usual debut girl groups in 2017. Instead of the girly vibe, they ooze girl crush appeals with crazy inspirational hair styles. Each of the 9 girls were divided into three different groups – Rap Unit, Vocal Unit, and Dance Unit. The rookie group performed a series of covers from a perfectly harmonized Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ to amazing dance performances. We definitely think G9 is a girl group to look out for – think SNSD meets MAMAMOO.
One particular main stage event was unlike the rest. During the day, a program titled “Lipstick Idol” was held on the mains concert stage. The ever fabulous MC and comedian Kim KiSoo introduced the program as a complete knock off of the popular show, “Lipstick Prince”. The Princes were 4 members of Boys24, InPyo, HoCheol, HaeJun, and JinSeob. The four boys challenged themselves in giving 4 lucky fans (princesses) a personal makeover to wear for the rest of the day. InPyo vowed to create a mini-me makeover, HoCheol wanted to create a vibrantly refreshing look, HaeJun wanted to focus on the eyes, and poor JinSeob was just lost. At the end of the day, after a vote by the crowd, InPyo’s princess took home the 1st place for the best makeover. The lucky fan was given the chance to take a polaroid and get hugged by InPyo!
