On July 9th, VIXX's Ken was awarded with this year's rookie musical actor award in Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF).
Ken's musical and acting abilities were recognized by many as he was involved in the musical 'Hamlet' for 4 months starting from last year May. Through his musical stage, he was given a new nickname, Ken-let, because of his outstanding performance. Ken has also been receiving positive feedback and compliments from many.
According to Jellyfish Entertainment, Ken revealed that he was very honored and happy to be able to stand on stage and receive the rookie actor award as there is only one chance to receive it. He continued by thanking his fellow actors, cast, director and staff who had been through with him such a rewarding process.
Ken ended by saying that through 'Hamlet', he felt that although he is still lacking in many aspects, he wants to thank the audience and Starlights who have always been giving him such loud applause at the end of the show. With such love and support, he believed that he would have the courage to continue to grow as a musical actor.
In 2015, Ken debuted as a musical actor through 'Chess' and continued with 'Cinderella', 'Boys Over Flowers The Musical', 'Hamlet', 'Titanic' and various genres of musical which allowed him to gain even more acting experience. With such experiences, the spotlight was shinning on Ken as one of the rising musical actors because of his outstanding acting and vocal abilities.
Now, many are paying attention on him as it was reported that Ken will be appearing in web-drama "Tofu Personified" this month.
