Wanna One’s Choreography Arouses Controversy for Being TOO Similar with BTS’

Wanna One came back with a title ‘Beautiful’ last November 13th. The songs had made a huge hit, living up to the reputation Wanna One made last past months. However, the performance raised a dangerous controversy over plagiarism.

BTS, before Wanna One, released a song with a same title ‘Beautiful’. There are many more songs that are titled with the word, so having the same title was not a big deal. However, the choreography BTS had for their ‘Beautiful’ and the choreography Wanna One had for their comeback title was TOO similar.

The gesture of holding someone in the back and swooshing like they are dancing the waltz is not a common dance move. BTS seemed to have made the waltz move as the signature move for the song. However, Wanna One, on their comeback stage, made a move where they pretended to hold someone in the neck and the back.

Can’t really imagine their similarities? Well here are clips comparing two dance moves.

Fans are asking for feedback to the entertainment currently.  Fans raising questions on two group’s choreography being too similar is not the first time.  The choreography of  Wanna One’s ‘Pick Me’ had some comparable moves with BTS’ ‘Blood, sweat, and tears’. There wasn’t any official feedback for ‘Pick Me’, however, fans seemed to need a clear official feedback for this comeback.

Roh TaeHyun of JBJ, in an interview, said that they (fans) will get punched hard if they quit being a fan of JBJ. His choice of words was harsh and his motions of hitting hard offended fans. Comments saying, “I can’t even get to like you cuz you’re so threatening” and “He has gone too far” were in general, and few seemed to be asking for a feedback on his actions.

Roh TaeHyun, briefly after his words went viral, posted up his apology.

Hi, this is Roh TaeHyun

I truly apologize for my unthoughtful actions and words that had offended you. I am sorry to have caused you such trouble.

I regret for my actions that have dissapointed you and offended you.

I will be more careful on what I say and what I do from now on and be more professional.

Again, I am sorry, I apologize deeply.

After the apology was posted, fans have calmed their anger towards him and said that it is his future actions that would decide his career as idols. Fans of JBJ left comforting yet worried voices to be more professional next time to TaeHyun.

Violence should never be a word between an idol and fan. However, there are some cases where fans require for a violent act to their idols. This was one famous example where a fan asked GaIn to hit her hard.

Instead of really hitting her, she kissed the fan on the cheeks. This video went viral for it delivered the message of not to ask for violence to idol and how well GaIn had reacted to such situations.

G-Dragon Asks for Repair Fee to One Who Broke the Chandelier in His Cafe

On October 2nd, a traveler who visited G-Dragon’s cafe in Jeju island wrote a post.

I broke the chandelier in G-Dragon’s cafe which costs about three hundred million won.

GD asked be to pay for the repair fee and he would pay for the chandelier components.

I always like TaeYand more than GD!

I guess I would have to pay 300,000 to 500,000 won to repair that…

Doesn’t my accident count in the insurance…?

The post had numerous comments, but it mainly divided into two sides. One supported GD and criticized the writer for writing cynically although it was the writer’s fault. They say, it was very kind of GD to only ask him of the repair fee when he could have asked for the whole fee including the fee for the new components. Also, they are very unhappy about the writer’s ungrateful attitude towards paying a small fee after breaking such an expensive object and condemning GD of asking him/her for any money.

However, on the other side, there were comments that supported the writer’s side. They said that the chandelier was placed where a lot of people passed by but there was no sign to be careful of. Also, they say that it isn’t the writer’s duty to pay for anything because if the writer has gotten hurt by chandelier breaking (which he hasn’t), it would be GD’s duty to pay for his hospital fee. Though the writer was not injured, it is still not his duty to pay for any fee.

The debate is still going on and more people are joining in to share their opinion. However, most comments seem to support GD’s side. Whether the writer paid the fee or not is still unknown.
