This have a simple answer: SM Entertainment.
Those “music shows” are all prepared for big companies and groups who are “relevant”. They have to give the “trophy” to groups of big companies and to those who have more fame, what come first. So that’s why the same groups win (NCT, Twice, BTS, etc.) have to win, and some few times groups from small companies, who “broke the rule”, receive the trophy but, there’s always some kind of controversy.
This show is based on fame, money they generate and company that came from, not from people’s choice.

idk why all of you keep on denying the obvious truth. I understand you all want to live in this fantasy world where your kpop idols are rich, famous or constant winners on music show because of their hard work and talent. There are some who are famous through hard work and talent, but most of it comes from the companies. lit rally what are you saying… do you hear yourself??? this isn’t some big conspiracy theory. “I think you are ignoring the fact that albums, sold or not, are not important to SC or other music shows” HUH???? how do people win then? Big 3 companies are not holding these music shows at gunpoint and telling them to give their artists a win. NCT isn’t even that popular in SK or China compared to WJSN’s popularity in those 2 countries.

I think you are ignoring the fact that albums, selled or not, are not important to SC or other music shows. They have to obey those big companies and give wins to them often, or their artists won’t be on this or other music shows again, understand? This is just like a mise-en-scene to give to you and spectators a false sensation of control, sometimes they change a little to the audience believe that their “system” is not controlled by them, but who decide who wins or not are the companies and the stations. The station need attractions to music… Read more »

WJSN just got more points in those criteria since their song and album was just released this week meaning more albums will be sold and more fans will stream the song while NCT 127 was released 3 weeks ago, I don’t think fans will buy the albums 3 weeks after or stream as hard. NCT sold almost 250k albums already while WJSN barely reached 59k and charted higher than WJSN. These fans couldn’t just accept they losed
