YG Entertainment is currently in the middle of constructing an ambitious new headquarters that will most likely resemble a futuristic skyscraper, boasting modern architecture.
According to the agency, the new headquarters is expected to be completed by sometime around mid 2019.
However, the new building, which is currently under construction, is causing problems for the residents who live in the apartments nearby. One of the main reasons why it has been problematic for them is that YG's new headquarters is currently blocking sunlight. According to reports, residents complained that the weather was colder than usual and that plants were dying because sunlight has been cut off.
They have also began protesting, demanding that the entertainment halt the construction at once as they contend that they are being denied their basic rights.
However, it turns out that YG Entertainment is not doing anything in violation of South Korea's law regarding architecture as the law only applies sunlight being cut off south of the residents. YG's new building currently cuts off sunlight on the east side of the residents.
YG Entertainment have stated that they are aware of the protests but have not commented any further on the current issue.
