An Indian ATINY AKA Desitiny Talks About Her Journey With ATEEZ

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello, my name is Tanu and I'll be turning 23 soon. I'm an ATEEZ fan from India, aka Desitiny!

How and when did you enter the fandom?

Actually, I got introduced to ATEEZ by YouTube in October 2021. I saw their "MAMA 2019" performance and my first thought was, "Who are they? Why is no one talking about them?" To be honest, I never thought they're rookies because of how confident and mature they're on stage.

But I didn't started stanning them that time, as I'm very choosy. I did some research on them afterwards, went through their whole discography and it was on 19th November of 2021 when I officially started stanning them.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

I have always a slight preference for performers. I love watching their amazing performances. It's not very often you see K-Pop idols play this much with their facial expressions. Their energy and passion you see in their dancing and beautiful live vocals give me goosebumps.
And on top of that, they're beautiful human beings inside and out. They're humble, kind, and I love how each member has their own individuality, but balances out very well with others onstage, as well as, offstage. Their music & performance skills is what attracted me towards them, but it was their humble, kind and genuine personalities that made me love them. And this love and respect for them keep increasing everyday.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

SeongHwa and HongJoong, aka MATZ. There's something totally magical and graceful about SeongHwa on stage, he lives up to the meaning of his name - like how star has a lot of energy inside it, but the way we see that energy in the form of twinkling is very pleasant to eyes. And HongJoong didn't even rap his part in that "MAMA 2019" performance, but I couldn't take my eyes off from him. I think it speaks enough about his charisma and presence on stage. And that blonde hair and white fur jacket are just cherry on top!

Who is your bias, and why?

Never ask this question to an ATINY because all they do is lie. They'll call MinGi their bias, have YunHo in their username and San on profile pic. Most of us are deep down OT8 bias including me.
I do have bias wreckers tho, i. e., SeongHwa, YunHo and YeoSang.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

For title track, I'll recommend 2 tracks, one Korean and other Japanese. So, for Korean, I recommend 'Inception' because it's my all time favourite ATEEZ title track.

And for Japanese, I recommend 'Utopia' because every day, every night, it keep growing on!!

For B-side, though 'Take Me Home', 'Fever', and 'Be With You' are my favs, I would suggest 'Not Too Late' because I feel it's not a very known song and it deserves to be heard and appreciated more.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

Members' song & OST covers available on their official YouTube channel, also HongJoong's solo song called 'Draw & Draw' , Jongho's OSTs, 'Wind' & 'Gravity' and MinGi's recent solo song called 'Untitled'.

Can you also recommend a content video by your favorite group? 

I suggest their pre-debut KQ fellaz dance covers. For variety shows, their "WANTEEZ" which is available for free on their official YouTube channel, "ATEEZ TREASURE FILM" series and "Salary Lupin." If you want to see their journey from KQ fellaz to ATEEZ, I suggest "Code Name Is ATEEZ."

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

"Maybe we're living younger, that's why we're fever... "
Special shout out to HongJoong's "Passion, Young, Fever" because I love that. Actually, 'Fever''s lyrics are really beautiful, I suggest checking that out!! 

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

HongJoong: "I hope you fall in love with being alive."
San: "Your priority in life should be yourself. I want you to gain happiness & strength from us. But I don't want you to go through hard time because of us or to treat us more important than yourself."
MinGi: "One's insecurity can be their charming point for others. So instead of looking at it as something to be insecure about, look at it as your charming point. And you'll be able to enjoy life more."
YeoSang: "I hope people who write bad things will find their precious happiness and change into someone who writes good rather than belittle others."
WooYoung: "You're not alone and you'll never be."

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

Though they're not physically close to me, they feel like a bunch of best friends I always wanted to have. Life is hard and that's truth, but they give me the strength to keep going and help me break the walls of negativity. My vision towards life became more optimistic because of them and they are making me a better human being with each passing day. They have became an important part of my youth and I'm going to remember and cherish them forever!!

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

I often see non-ATINYs judging their music style on the basis of 1-2 few selected songs, but in reality, they have one of the most diverse discography. If there are songs like 'Thanxx', 'Fireworks' which you can bounce to, then there are songs like 'Mist', 'Turbulence', & 'Better', which you can cry to. If they have darker concepts like 'Guerrilla', they also have brighter songs like 'Wave' & 'Eternal Sunshine'. Please go through their discography before judging them, and that applies to every artist, I guess!

What is a random fact that you think people don't know about them?

A lot of people don't know about the collabs they have done:
ATEEZ × Kim JongKook - "Season Songs"

ATEEZ × Pentatonix - 'A Little Space'

ATEEZ × MONSTA X × Rain × Brave Girls - 'Summer Taste'

Also, the famous 'Utopia × Ring Ding Dong' TikTok audio, a lot of people don't know that that highnote is from a K-Pop song. Our maknae JongHo did that. I want more people to know about that!

Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why.

As I love children, I would love to see ATEEZ on shows like "ODG" and "Baby Cloud." Though ATEEZ members WooYoung, San and SeongHwa recently appeared in "Baby Cloud," and ATEEZ have done kids teaching idol series in the past, I would love to see them, as well as other members again.

If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together?

To be honest, I love dancing (though I'm not a very good dancer) so I'll lock ourselves in a room and play some Indian music and teach them some Indian dance moves. I'll feed them Indian food and we'll sing and dance whole day and at the end, I'll just tell them how much grateful I'm to know and have them in this lifetime. 

Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your favourite?

Just 2 days ago, I was re-watching "Project Star 1117" (a surprise fan project organised by ATINYs for ATEEZ) and all their anniversary interviews, they teared me up. Actually, I get emotional whenever I watch their old contents from rookie era because of how far they have come, how much they have endured, how much they have grown, I'm so proud of my ATEEZ.

If your bias were to collab with another idol, who do you think would be best?

ATEEZ always do best no matter what, but I want to see them collab with BTS one day as they're one of the few artists I love beside ATEEZ. Their passion and energies together will be so iconic. Also, special mention to SeongHwa × SHINee's TaeMin stage collab because why not! 

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being happy and healthy?

I just want their every wish to come true and them getting what they deserve. Them getting lots of love from everywhere and our fandom grow at least 10 times of its present size.

Yes!! I thank ATEEZ everyday, because of them I got to meet some precious people and learnt many new things.
