Seoul has an abundance of vibrant neighborhoods filled with differing micro-communities that makes the city shine. However, there’s more cities to explore that offer a totally different experience from the bustling streets of Seoul city.
One other South Korea travel destination is Chuncheon, just north of Seoul.

1. Nami Island

Perhaps one of the most famous travel destinations in Chuncheon is Nami Island, often referred to as Namiseom.
Nami Island is a half-moon shaped river island that’s most famous for being a filming location for the iconic K-Drama “Winter Sonata”. The island is filled with beautiful tree-lined paths that add a touch of romance and sentimentality to every visit.
2. Gangchon Rail Park

Continue on your sentimental journey throughout Chuncheon and head on over to Gangchon Rail Park.
Comprised of preserved train tracks of old, the rail park has a variety of different attractions. From its iconic railbike course, photo zone, café, zipwire, and much more, you’re guaranteed to face no dull moment in the park.
3. Chuncheon Dakgalbi Street

In between all the activities, you’re bound to get hungry. So if you’re able to, make Chuncheon Dakgalbi Street your next stop!
For those unaware, dakgalbi translates to spicy stir-fried chicken, a dish Chuncheon is known for. The city has an alley dedicated to this mouth-watering delicacy, so you can take your pick! Know that whichever restaurant you choose, you’ll be leaving stuffed to the brim with delicious dakgalbi, banchan, and more.
4. Soyanggang Skywalk

This next location requires a bit of bravery, so if you have some, visit Soyanggang Skywalk.
Spanning across the river, it boasts transparent glass flooring that covers 156 meters. Once you reach the end, you’ll find a circular plaza and observatory that you can take keepsake photographs and marvel at the scenic view.
